Do some reading on Judaism, and decide if you prefer Liberal or
Orthodox Judaism. Then schedule an appointment with a rabbi of either
denomination.

In Dublin there are synagogues. Seek out a local rabbi and talk with him.
Realize that there are a few different sects (I don't know their names in
Ireland) so one may be more suited for you than the other. You will have
to do you homework.

The first question (and the second through the tenth) is *WHY* you want to
convert to Judaism. This is a personal question that only you can answer.
Remember that by doing so you will leave the majority and become part of
the (often persecuted) minority. There should be a compelling reason in
your life for doing this.

We are very proud of who we are as Jews. However, we do not seek out
converts, and those that come to us need understand the difficulties in
both the path and the end result. This can be a discouragement. Also, it
is not an overnight process. It requires considerable study.

There are obstacles. Since you are from Ireland I will assume that you are
Catholic. the single greatest obstacle that you will personally face is
that you must completely (in your heart) renounce any thought of the
divinity of Jesus. In Judaism he was a minor figure and simply a man.
There is one God, not a split personality. Unless you can do this don't go
any further for you will only be disillusioned.

No to answer your question. Look in the phone book under synagogues. If
there is no entry for that then look under Churches - Jewish (in the U.S.
in areas where Jews are few and far between this is what is done). There
must be major universities in Dublin. See if there is a Hillel there. In
other words, the internet is not the place to go for this. You need one on
one contact to explore your motivations and understand the obstacles so
that you can proceed with full knowledge beforehand.

Here is my experience... first I would spell the religion correctly

the read the laws of Moses.

Then speak to friends... about the difference between what they think
x-ians believe in G~d and what they do...

Next... talk to the person leading the conversion class.... get a book list...
get ready for the question... "why isn't your wife/g-friend going to attend
with you.

Finally talk to a rabbi

P.S. I can't tell you yet how to tell your mother that you've converted

Becoming Jewish is more than just changing religions -- it's adopting a
new lifestyle, a new people, a new way of approaching life. Read a few
books (any library or bookstore can help), then, if you're still
interested, find a rabbi to talk to.

If asked directly they would say no... but if instead you asked them...
(nonfundi-x-ians} what about the CHURCH they do not like... it is the
seperation of X- ianity from the teachings of the Torah...

If given the opportunity beleive in G~d... as they see him or her. Be able to
study how the laws of Moses could be adapted to modern life... most would
live lives close to reform judism. (this is the threat of judaism to x-ianity)

But no they would not convert.... here is why... if asked if it is
wrong to picture Jesus as G~d coming down as a Man to teach us... they would
say no... G~d created the heaven and the earth... it would be in his power to
come down as a man...

Luckly for me my X-ain parents belong to groups that beleive that there is
only one G~d... regardless of your religion... the Great Architect of the
Universe. I am able to meet them on a level as long as I can square my actions

The reason I asked about groups of Christians willing to convert is
this:

I want the whole world to be Jewish. Christians don't have to exist
for me to know that I choose Judaism and why I do.

So I would like the Pope to become a Rabbi and designate the Vatican
as THE post-rabbinical yesheevah of the world. Thus Israel would be
the center of the Earth and the Vatican, slightly off-center.

I've looked at some Christian Churches and discovered that if the
cross were updated into a menorah -- easily done, there would be no
architectural problems. Then all that would have to be done is to
change the focus to TaNaK only. As for Hebrew, the American Christians
are becoming more and more interested in the Hebrew Language. So, the
entire congregation could finance their minister's rabbinical
education and the yesheevah could provide a interim rabbi via their
rabbinical grads.

The real problem is all those human statues in the Catholic
architecture and the only reason they are a problem is because of
financial investments based on art.

I think we could solve this by designating some isolated islands as
respositories for this art and these islands then could become tourist
attractions.

Yes, the whole economy of the earth might improve with the Judaiizing
of the Earth. Wonderful thought having been exposed to the first
sentence of the Spanish Edict of Ferdy and Izzy expelling the Jews --
and the Catholic Coda that imposes death on Judaizers.
Makes me swell with humility as I write this..

As a friend of mine in college (an Orthodox Jew) used to say
"Why would anybody want to do this if he didn't have to?"

To expand on this - Why would you want to convert?
You do realise that - according to Jewish belief - only Jews have to be
observant of the TOrah. Non Jews have to only keep seven commandments
(which amount to being a good person)?

That said - the best way to find out is visit a Synagogue and talk to a
rabbi.
Before doing that, try to find out about the different branches of Judaism
and how they differ and why they think in particular ways.

You must also be aware that, unless you undergo conversion in an Orthodox
manner, many groups of Jews will not recognise you, or your children as
Jewish.
