Unfortunately, it's not amazing at all, it's par for the course.

Mirjam mentioned the doctor Semmelweis and what he did for mothers.
I did not recognize the name, so I looked it up in Wiki. Seems he
realized that doctors were _causing_ infections in women giving
birth. He could not explain why, it was before the Germ Theory was
discovered but he made the doctors wash their hands after autopsies
and the death rate plummeted. You would think he would have been a
hero. Uh-uh. SInce he went against the prevailing "understanding" of
medicine in his time, he was subjected to abuse and forced to leave
Vienna.

So Dvora, there is nothing new under the sun.
