Also, someone forgot to replace the chair in front of the refrigerator and
Alvin, (our dog who can open the refrigerator door), ate the potato kugel
:-/
Other than that it's been a nice yom tov. Hope everyone's enjoying the
holiday! :-)
Best regards,
---Cindy S.
I've been cooking nonstop & neither of the children want any of it, except
for my rolls (the daughter) and cheese slices (the baby). Go figure.

My aunt & uncle found (when their son was old enough to open the door, but
not old enough to be trsuted alone with an open refrigerator) that a bungie
cord worked real well.

I was holding my breath all throughout the first hald of serder until the
meal, because I had volunteered to make sweet & sour brisket & had the
horrible feeling that everyone would hate it. They didn't. Except my
daughter won't eat any more of it....

Three days is a long Shabbat/Yom Tov, but I got some serious reading done
(finished one book, read the whole of another, and a few chapters of a
third) - great. Not being able to start preparations for the Seder/Seuda
until 9:30 pm was a problem, but I was well organised and the seuda just
needed heating up and dishing up.
Still can't work out how to *savour* the taste of the Afikoman, but I have
another year to figure that out :-)

Yes :-) Seriously, research has shown that eating involves visual cues.
So vary the sight and texture of the Pessach foods to fool the brain
that one is eating large quantities of food. Thus, on a per gram basis,
one eats much larger quantities of mashed potatoes than say baked (not
fried) potato slices. Instead of giving the kids scrambled eggs, add
a tablespoon of matza meal and some vegetables and turn the simple scrambled
eggs into a fancy omelet.

ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!
And apropos, instead of fattening potato kugel use Bodek frozen cauliflower
or broccoli to make a vegetable quiche [no Ian, not KISH MIR EN ....]. It's
filling, healthy and low fat.

I'll be glad to stop by and help dispose of whatever's left... :-)

Ditto here. My girls have been eating up all the cream cheese that
should have got us through at least Wednesday. Now that it is Chol
HaMoed, the two older ones boarded the bus to Great Adventure with
NCSY and the little one went to work with DAD. Now I can get the
vacuum out and suck up all the matzoh crumbs!!!!

Of course. Matzah is "bread of affliction" so we never feel satiated
when we eat it.

Thus proving Cindy, that your potato kugel _is_ "raui l'achilat kelev".

It was GREAT!
