Melbourne: An Indian youth was today stabbed to death by unidentified
assailants here, he succumb to injuries amid a string of ever
increasing racial attacks on the brown community members in
Australia.
21-year-old Nitin Garg, who migrated from Punjab and had permanent
residency in Australia, was stabbed in the abdomen in a park while on
his way to fast food joint Hungry Jack's restaurant, where he worked
part-time after just completing his studies at University recently .
He staggered into the restaurant on the corner of Somerville Road and
Geelong Road, West Footscray, at about 10pm local time last night
(0330 HRS IST this morning) and pleaded for help before collapsing.
Garg, who on a previous occasion also was beaten up by a group of men
at the Newport Railway Station, was taken to the Royal Melbourne
Hospital, but he later died.
Police said the youth from Newport had travelled to Yarraville train
station about 9.30pm local time (0300 HRS IST), then walked along
Anderson Street to Cruickshank Park, where he was stabbed in the
abdomen.
He managed to stumble some 300 metres to the Hungry Jack's restaurant.
Nearly 100 cases of attacks on Indians, mostly racial, were reported
in Australia in 2009 as against 17 incidents of assaults in 2008.

Hood, Nidal Malik Hasan, who murdered more than a dozen individuals. Malcom
in fact applauds this COWARDLY action.

Danish police said they shot and wounded a Somali man with Al Qaeda links
when he tried to break into the home of a cartoonist whose 2005 caricatures
of Prophet Mohammad outraged many Muslims.
The 28-year-old man, armed with a knife and axe, failed to get into Kurt
Westergaard's home in the town of Aarhus late on Friday and was shot in the
leg and hand after he threw the axe at a policeman, a police spokesman said.
The man, who was now under arrest, had "close ties to the Somali terror
organisation Al Shabaab as well as to Al Qaeda leaders in East Africa," the
Danish Security and Intelligence Service PET said in a statement.
It said the man, who had a legal residence permit for Denmark, was also
"suspected of being involved in terror-related activities in East Africa".
The security service said the man, who would be charged with attempting to
kill Mr Westergaard and the police officer, had been involved in a
"terror-related network" that has long been under investigation in
connection with threats to Mr Westergaard.
"PET looks very seriously upon this case which once again confirms the
terror threat directed against Denmark and the cartoonist Kurt Westergaard
in particular," PET chief Jakob Scharf said in the statement.
Mr Westergaard was not hurt in the incident, a police spokesman said.
He said police were still investigating whether the Somali man acted alone.
Last year US authorities arrested two men in Chicago who were suspected of
planning attacks on Mr Westergaard and his newspaper Jyllands-Posten, which
published the caricatures of Prophet Mohammed.

people. This is actually well known.
Whites just don't live near those places anymore.
Most of the indians in Australia are there on student visas, hopping
to immigrate and they work part time jobs.
They work late night jobs in petrol stations, late night jobs in
supermarkets and soforth and are vulnerable because they don't use
credit cards or electronic payment (prefering to use cash). The

The few occaisions of direct conflict have been over trivial things:
one supposed 'bashing' by 70 people was a brawl/fight over a pool
table in a pub in a seedy area. 4-5 people were involved and maybe 20
looked on. There were no knives or weapons just black eyes.

australian press at a time this was still a hot issue. He might have
been insulted or racialy abused during the fight.
Indians in Australia have 1/9th the crime rate of the Australian
