Shanghai, Aug 17 (DPA) Chinese university graduates feel unprepared for
the job market, with half of them saying they learned nothing practical
and over a third calling college a waste of time.
Of nearly 9,000 Chinese students surveyed, 34.7 percent regretted their
university experience, saying it had not been worth the money invested,
the Shanghai Daily reported.
About 51.5 percent said they had learnt nothing practical and 39.2
percent said they could not land a job with a bachelor's degree, the
newspaper quoted a survey as saying.
'Sometimes I feel I have wasted the money my parents earned by the
sweat of their brows by entering university. I can't make a living from
what I learnt, let alone repay my parents,' insisted one student, Zhao.
Despite a degree from a top Beijing university, Zhao could only find a
job as a guard, saying he will not be able to make enough to pay his
parents back for his tuition.
Young Chinese are facing a severe job crunch in an increasingly
competitive labour market. In 2006 there are 4.13 million graduates
entering the work force, 750,000 more than in 2005.

How many universities in the world prepare students to fit the
thousands of different occupations in the job market? Universities are
not vocational schools. This is true the world over.
You're always taking bits of information and read more than is
justified to advance your pet theory of Japanese superiority. One fine

University Hospital and computer scientist is having a tough time. You
may be right on this one, since nursing is in high demand now. Maybe
Albert Fung's "best and brightest" are not doing so great either, as
even Qualcom stock is down to the mid-30s.

through the front door. Once inside, it's all depended on you, your

present day Buddhists are NOT true Buddhist....
they do not follow the core teachings of Buddha.

You were not around when the Buddha preached and you probably used a
written texts that was written by monks 600 years later on after the
Buddha passed away to parinibanna. Buddhist tradition was through oral
transmission that the "texts" were transmitted to the next generation
through chanting. Are you saying here that you did your research by
listening the monks chant?

The 500 senior monks Ananda called after the buddha passed away were in
the first Buddhist Conference was to assign each region with
remembering the buddha's teaching. It was later written down about 600
years later. Are you saying that the texts that were written were wrong
or what? Chinese texts beibng quoted out of context by Alex probably
came from Mahayana tradition. The original texts consist of 28 volumes
and Mahayana has 110 volumes. This shows that Mahayana has rewritten
the texts many times over. Most probably the extra texts were
elaboration of the originals text and some could be a repeatition. Some
included in Mahayana texts are Zen Koans which are not in Theravada.

His life story and his teachings were first memorised
by special 500 monks, and orally passed on to later
generations of monks. Later his teachings were
recorded in Buddhist scriptures and holy writings.
All Buddhist scriptures and holy writings of the various
sects contain the same core teachings of Buddha....
Repeat...the various school of Buddhism all over the
world, contain the same Buddha's core teaching...the
"four noble truth and eight fold path"
This is how,...Buddha's core teachings could be established.
There were sutras and holy books written by monks centuries
after the death of Buddha. This could also be verified.

After his death, Buddhist monks wrote hundreds of thousands
sutra through the ages. They wrote their own stories and added
their own teachings....Some of these teaching and practices were

Let me give a few examples--
-- In Bangkok, Buddhist worship and pray to a huge stone
penis in the temple of fertility. Buddha did not preach fertility

-- Buddhist worship and pray to a four-face Buddha for wealth,
4-D numbers and good luck in gambling. Buddha in his core
teachings taught his people not to give in to desires, lust, yearning....
including the desire for wealth, and he did not encourage gambling.
He certainly did not preach the power of a 4-face Buddha....(Not
in Buddha's core teaching)
-- Thai Buddhist created a soccer God, called Beckham God...
and Buddhist prayed to this soccer God for winning football bets.
(Not Buddha's teaching)
-- Buddhists, following the example of Jesus, the son of God, wrote
sutra claiming Buddhist are the sons of Buddha. The notion that
Buddha had children violate the fundamental premise of
Buddhism.
-- The Chinese has created the 18 Kung Fu fighting Buddha in
Shao-Lin Temple, created a female Buddha, created a Monkey
God,..... Are all these creation in Buddha's core teaching ?
Yes. Buddhist monks could write new sutras, preach new Buddhist
teachings and create new Gods....but these later Buddhist writings
and teachings are NOT the teaching of Buddha. I wouldn't care a
damn about these new teachings and writings...
However, it is wrong to claim that these new sutra and new creation
were Buddha's teachings ...

Yes. there is nothing wrong with explanation, commentary,
elaboration of Buddha core teachings. I did not condemn
such writings.
Even when Buddhists write new sutras with new ideas, new
teaching, create new gods, against the teachings of Buddha...
it is still alright....Buddhist have a right to do so...provided
they own up that it was their own creations. I care less!

noble truth and 8 noble paths. The second sermon 5 days later he gave
this discourse," Anatta-lakkhana Sutta. -The Discourse on the Not-self
