Really? Your obsession over the issue seem to show plenty.

Not really. "Byrnes note" did the trick. Should thank Truman for
backing off a bit or asking the Emperor's helping hand in reigning
in his troops.

===================
For the bombs, the Japanese experts had concluded that they could
survive
the bombs by going underground. Their militery felt it was no big deal.
What got

It was the Soviet Union's entry that made them switch their policy
from waiting for Soviet Union's mediation to focus on Potsdam with
one condition. They should thank the Russians. Along with
Byrnes and the gang for offering the Japanese that Byrnes Note
that made the surrender palatable for the Japanese.
Bombs were simly a background noise while they were seeking a way to
end the war since about June 22, 1945.

More like speculation. His uncle might've survived regardless
of the bombings.

"Obsession"?

Oh yeah, telling the TRUTH.

Without Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the ignoramuses in charge of Japan
would have fought on until there were no Japanese left to do the
fighting. Then of course THEY would have surrendered, cowards that
they were.

Your fellow revisionists say the same thing about the Holocaust.

No. It was the Byrnes note that made surrender possible. This was more
of a conciliatory note by the allies, vs the Potsdam Proclamation,
asking
for the Emperor's helping hand. Which was enough to end it.

Most of a friend's uncles DIDN'T survive WWII because of the
Holocaust. I'm sure you question THAT.

I would question it if they died from allied collateral damage.

You keep using Tsuji, but he worked for KMT, Chrisy.
He was your friend's friend.

do.
