Mr Richmond:
where did you get that bit about [Vincent Chin] harassing a
stripper?
i have studied the case carefully, and there is no such
description anywhere.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Vincent Chin was beaten to death with a baseball bat by two
white men.
according to the witnesses, Ebens first started harassing Chin
by saying (among other things) "It's because of you (little)
motherfuckers that we are out of work." Ebens called Chin a "boy".
Among Chin's replies were "I'm not a boy." and "Don't call me a
fucker. I'm not a little motherfucker."

Try reading some of his pseudo-FAQs and tell me if they are acceptable.
Like, say, the American misconceptions FAQ.
>I do have my personal biases, like everyone else. I am sure he does,
>too.
No one is free of bias. That doesn't give you a license to spread
your bias all over the world. Especially if your bias is strong enough
to be called "bigotry" or "racism."
> It is very easy to attack one person. It is easy to criticize one
>person when everyone else is doing the same.
I plead the grandfather clause. I was in scj before Tanaka started
polluting it. I started flaming him when it wasn't certain that it was
Politically Correct (TM) to flame him. Many others who regularly
argue against him in scj can claim likewise. And no, we don't meet in
dark rooms every Friday night to plot against him; we frequently disagree
with each other on other issues.
>I don't know Tomoyuki
>personally. Thus, I cannot speak for him. Even IF his intention
>is to post irritating comments, why do people have to attack him like
>that?
Because Tanaka is known to stoop to very low personal attacks in order
to win arguments rather than engage in open debate to support his points.
I took over maintenance of the soc.culture.japan FAQ three years ago.
Tanaka, having several propaganda sheets of his own that he wants to
call FAQ (they aren't; nobody asks about them but him), resented me for
calling my document "FAQ" and has engaged in many efforts to discredit
myself and the FAQ sheet. If you read my FAQ, you will see that there
is nothing controversial in them--I actively try to leave that kind of
stuff out. His efforts to discredit it and my maintaining it can only
be explained by his megalomania and his dislike of me.
I had abandoned the group for many months after the creation of
soc.culture.japan.moderated (inspired partly by flame wars incited by
Tanaka), and returned in April to find it as bad as ever. When I
flamed Tanaka for making personal attacks on a Mr. Charles Eicher, he
responded not by responding in kind, but by emailing my sysadmin and
threatening lawsuit for defamation (you will notice that he is
allegedly a law student) unless he pulled my account. I do not
consider this kind of intimidation tactic (kyouhaku, if the Japanese
word sounds more pointed to you) a fair response. I am not the only
beneficiary of his pull-account-or-I'll-sue-you tactic, either; one
soc.culture.japan.moderated moderator lost his job for several days
thanks to his threats (fortunately, his employer got the real story
eventually and reinstated him), and I know of a few other sites that
have gotten similar complaints.
This is going beyond irritating comments; this is harassment.
>If we try to see where his views are coming from, if we try to see

You have not been around for over three years in which we have tried
to deal with him. Being a Japanese expatriate in the United States, I
also think I have a fair understanding of where he's coming from; that
doesn't make me any more sympathetic to him.

A fact not at all obvious to those of us who actually went through his
lengthy propaganda sheets.

Saddam Hussein's way ot "communicating" with the Jews in Israel
consisted of Scud missiles. That didn't make the missiles any more
acceptable. Tanaka is not a child. If he still doesn't know how to
interact with the rest of the planet in an acceptable way after all
these years, that isn't our problem.

That simply means you are able to see both sides of an issue. That is
a good thing. I'm not sure if Tanaka has ever bothered looking at the
other side of the issues. It's easy to be a fanatic if you don't think
about it, you see.
> Another thing I've noticed is people tend to like discuss

In other words, you think he is a troll (someone who deliberately posts
flamebaits for enjoyment). I agree. And since you're apparently new to
Usenet, you might want to know that trolls are not looked upon kindly in
most Usenet groups, especially people who come to newsgroups looking for
real discussions.

His method of "communicating" with people he does not
like--threatening to cut off their net access--is both antisocial and
cowardly ("hikyou" sounds better in this context). I at least do not
believe in forcing him off the net; however, I do believe it is
important for everyone (that includes you) to know who exactly they're
dealing with before they swallow what he says, hook, line and sinker.

Funny, Eric remembers this, yet Tanaka-san has yet to even acknowledge his
sending abusive e-mail to my wife, let alone apologize for it. After my
many requests on this newsgroup and in private e-mail for him to do so.
(Which accounts for much of my so-called "harrassing mail" to him.) And
this was over a year ago.
At least when Donald Dudley, the student legal affairs officer at UCDavis,
e-mailed me, he acknowledged the problem Tanaka-san has become. He
recommended I archive more of the abusive e-mail that Tanaka-san sends,
particularly when the account is used by other family members.
And for some strange reason, I never seem to get private e-mail from
Tanaka-san anymore...
Funny, that.

Really? Good. Please resend me the messages you
sent me almost daily when I first posted to
soc.culture.japan over a year ago, questioning
the validity of your FAQ, asked why you
crossposted, and commented on your racism
claim against one of your university professors.
I threw them all out as trash before I realized
the enemies you made online needed more
evidence of harrassment by you to have you
disciplined by your university, be prevented

So now you're playing the "Liar, Liar" game? Don't you think it's
irresponsible of you to send racist e-mail, laced with "bigot" and "white
racists", then to refuse to acknowledge or apologize to unintended

Talk about a falsehood. You sent closer to 12 messages. And they had
enough of your racist banter in them to scare my wife. Though I
unfortunately did not keep all of them on record, as this was in the summer
of '96 when I first approached this newsgroup, and I did not realize the
severity of your psycho-racist disorder, there is a chance they are not
entirely irretrievable. Through some contact with my ISP in Japan, I may be
able to procure the other 9 or so mails that you "probably" sent me.
Fortunately, the 3 mails that DID have racist content, I DID save, and DID
send to Donald Dudley at UCDavis. Perhaps, Tanaka, you ought to go have
(another?) sit-down chat with Mr. Dudley about how your racist e-mail
harassment of whites [and their families] can and someday might aid you in
losing your state-subsidized e-mail account.

How is this racist? Explain why this is racist when Americans do it, but
not when Japanese do it. Explain how this is racist, but your claims that
Americans couldn't learn Japanese as well as Japanese could learn English is
not racist. Hell, I don't even know why I'm asking this. You won't answer.

As you well know, Tanaka, it was reportedly because of your false

Last August, I talked with Christien Jarvis of the Office
of Admission and she recommends that reports of
major abuse should be sent to her at:

ATTN: Christien Jarvis
Unfortunately, Ms. Jarvis does not have an internet
address, so please use the above address. She will
file it away for retrieval whenever (if) the law student
should apply for admission.

actually, what you should be tallying is tanaka reposts of "richmond is.."
"peters is a..." etc. posts. he does that not quite as often.
the "yamashita bitter posts" are a proper followup to such messages, as it
questions the credibility of a person when questioning other people's
credibilities.
his "myth" and "misconception" repeated documents could and should be met
by "myths and misconceptions about americans" or whatever to contradict the
message, rather than attack the messenger. people declaring his documents to
be "rantings of a racist prick" or whatever followed by the "yamashita
bitter posts" might only convince me that tt is less than straight about his
own "innocence" of waging personal attacks, but they hardly convince me that
his "documents" are wrong, when some of them (especially those about being
asian american) seem spot on with my own personal experience. i really can't
judge anything he says about japan though, having never been there.

This message, dated "Wed, 22 May 1996
11:12:44 -0700," was "the last" you got from
Fester? That's nearly two years ago! You've sent
me unsolicited e-mail more recently than this!
Mike wrote:

You call this "harrassing email?" People
publicly post stuff about you worse than this,
myself included.
Tanaka, I've never said people are not harrassing
you, but this hardly constitutes harrassment, is
not racist, and is certainly not worth getting
Mike fired over. That guy who got disciplined
over making a death threat against you deserved
it, but Mike is hardly that sort of fanatic.

I didn't get fired. PG&E opened an investigation into the situation. I got
a couple days off, at full pay. After the investigation, the Network Admin
there posted to the group the following;
"Tanaka-
I do not appreciate nor condone your quoting of a private
email to a newsgroup. Furthermore, it appears that you attempted to
mislead me with your messages, and further investigation seems to
indicate it is in fact you who are harassing Michael Fester.
May I remind you that you have been requested not to contact
Michael Fester, and any messages you send are automatically bounced
back. Any further attempts will be considered malicious, and I will
take the matter up with UCI administration."
That will be available on Deja News, if anyone cares.

Gee, my mail server must be running slow. It looks to me like that
email is two years old. I assume that means nothing has happened to
offend TT in the past two years. How lucky he must feel--I get offended
by something or other every few days.

The following is from one of your quotes.

You mean like those redskins that lost the Americas to about 12

Grand Dragon of what savage? Did they elect you Cheif of the casino
yet? If you are referring to the KKK, I doubt they like my views of
Asian progression any more than a racist backwater savage like
yourself
What is this "Cheif" title you keep bestowing?

Not at all; they love 'em.
Keep the redman where he belongs, march those Japanese off to war...
Not to mention the anti-Israeli stuff you spewed.
Mike
After a quick 5-minute search of dejanews, with the proper key words, I can
add a few others to Mr. Fester's list. Keep in mind that they are a but a
few; there are more out there in your (PLO style's) posting history.

You will catch me and hurt me? Why? What have I ever done to you? You
arent a parasite like Fester. What is your beef.
: You will catch me and hurt me? Why?
Hmm, because you're a racist little KKKer, who wants to march off the youth
of Japan to conquor Korea?

I believe it's because of the moral implications of the actions you condone.

I believe a parasite would be someone living off Daddy's money and attending
a university built on stolen lands...
Why, that would be YOU, Plooey...

Isn't it just a bit psychotic to be answering your own posts
as if you were a multiple personality? Do you remove the mesg
quoting information to try to hide your psychosis?

It is *glaringly obvious that you are quibbling about still having
accounts but are not denying the *fact* that you harassed James'
wife.

I dont think the KKK allows Asian members, and i never said that the

Yes, we know.
: the KKK allows Asian members,
Perhaps, but that has nothing to do with you, does it?
: and i never said that the youth of Japan should conquer Korea.
"Japan has proof that they have rights to South Korea. And although the
Zionists kill, and torture, and rape thousands of Arabs, this will not
happen in South Korea. Due to South Korea's economic problems, and
it's tendency to kowtow to the US military interests, there should be
no reason to not although Japan the claim over South Korea."

: Too much firewater has rotted your brain Tonto.
Is this the sort of thing they publish in "The Socialist"?
: I love Korea and Japan.
So much so that you feel them inferior, and incapable of handling their own
affairs.
Was that a question on the test for you to become a Grand Dragon?

No, what you want is for Japan to assert its claim over Korea. You know,
like last time, resulting in the deaths of thousands upon thousands.

A grant from "Daddy's Money".

I don't live in Manhatten, Klansbaby.
But tell me, Grand Dragon, didn't you (mis)claim that Cortes had already
conqoured all the Indians?
Are you claiming we got money for something that wasn't ours?

However, you DID say South Korea should be placed under Japanese control.
Unless South Korea gives up its sovereignty voluntarily, conquest
would be the only way this is going to happen. So tell me, Great Wise
One, why the hell would South Korea ever do this, given what Japan did
to them the last time this happened?

I have been watching this thread for some time now, and for someone
who supposedly has a full scholarship you are yet to demonstrate any
form of intelligence.
Yet you DO exhibit rather extreme racist tendencies.

His identity crisis between his childhood memories of a faultless
Japan and his experiences since as an Asian American would seem
to be at the root of much of his mis/disinformation. People have
debunked his claims for years, but mostly not on scaa. TT is fairly
careful in not crossposting to scaa when his views are overtly
Japanese nationalist and anti-other-Asian. This is why I constantly
challenge him on the Nanjing Massacre and Comfort Women issues. He
still won't admit to 100s of thousands of victims and he posts stuff
about Japan that anyone who was there in this lifetime knows is BS.
Enough ranting (-; You want examples. The following tidbits from the
NYT 1998 Almanac and the Asahi Shimbum 1998 Almanac.
Suicide Rate: US = 11.9 (95) Japan = 18.4 (96)
Marriage JPN + Foreign: FM + JW = 6940 / JM + FW = 20787
If you want to troll through his various un-FAQs and pull out items
to be debunked. Feel free to post individual questions. There is a
very high chance that any item is either an out and out lie or a
gross distortion even if it seems reasonable on the surface.
Any way this guy says:
>I love Korea and Japan.
Don't love Korea, please.
Hate Korea, please.
I don't want my country loved by you faschist scums.

I wish Koreans and Japanese would band together to drive out you and
your friends, faschist racist imperialist scums.

is the asahi shimbum english language? what are other good factoid books.
for asian americans, eastern standard time, put out by yang et al (editors of
a. magazine) is pretty neat, and though perhaps more editorial than your
average almanac, makes for easier and pleasanter reading.
msg
The Asahi Shimbum Almanac is bilingual but I don't know where you
can buy it in the States. I now have the '95 and the '98 so I can
check trends to some extent. I do not know of any other English
or bilingual Almanacs. The Asahi Shimbum has its faults and its
distortions, aimed at protecting Japans reputation. It does seem
to be scrupulously accurate, but it leaves out any facts about
the Ainu, Korean, or other minorities in Japan. In contrast the
NYT Almanac covers almost every posible area of racial imbalance
and discrimination.

I will have to pick up a copy, although I really trust 'factoids'
better when they aren't explicitly tied to an editorial agenda.
