In the past, others have "explained" to me that, in Israel, killing Palestinians does not count as murder, because Palestinians are considered as vermin and not as human.

In terms of Israeli opinion, numerous TV documentaries have been made where Israeli's are interviewed etc, so the evidence is very concrete.

From numerous TV documentaries, Israel is shown as an aparthied state, much like the old South Africa.
Palestinians just want to life a normal life, only Zionist racism is preventing a peaceful society.
Why not give a right of return to all refugees, and not just those of the "correct" ethnicity, with citizenship to all residents who are not citizens of another country.

Because for the most part, they are not allowed to. They are not allowed passports or citizenship and have their movements severely restricted.
Essentially they live in the worlds largest open air prison.

I am not likely to visit a place where I can be killed or imprisoned indefinitely without trial (using what you called administrative detention) just because I have to wrong skin color.
But we live in a high tech world, and have TV channels like Al-Jazeera covering Israel current affairs very regularly.

Palestinians could have had not just a normal life side by side with
Jews for 100 years, they couild have had a life ten times the quality

Won't happen. The reason is that the current state of affairs is
balanced - Arab refugees from the forties are about 100,000 less than
Jewish refugees from the forties and fifties. The big difference is
that Jews were forced out of Muslim countries with nothing but the
shirts on their backs, whereas most Arabs left Israel of their own
accord. The value of possessions left behind of Jewish refugees of the
time is estimated to be at least five times the value of Arab
property, even given the much higher real estate values in Israel than
in Syria, Jordan, etc. Israel absorbed all the Jewish refugees long
ago, and they have started anew and made new lives. Arab "refugees",
on the other hand, have been preserved liike fossils in camps in order
to attract international sympathy.

From my understanding many left due to extreme duress, this was the era when zionists were performing ethnic cleansing on quite a scale.

Israel does not allow free movement within its borders, there are severe restrictions between internal zones within Israel, e.g. in or out of West Bank, in or out of Gaza strip etc.

Absolutely true. The problem is that, what's done is done. There are
damages on both sides, and it would be completely unfair to attempt
remedy for one side and not the other. Sometimes we must accept things
that seem personally unfair, but in the broader scope are as fair as
is practical. Nowadays, we view money as the solution to all. When
someone is damaged, he sues in court, and money is awarded according
to how the court values his damage. My point is that yes, compensation
should be awarded to displaced Arabs, but so should it to displaced
Jews, the latter being at least five times as valuable. That is simply
not going to happen. Everyone needs to accept status quo and move on.
Is it completely just? No, it's not. BUt it's the only way to move
forward. Sheesh, Arabs are spending their disgusting oil money on
solid gold toilets, let's get real - the Palestinians are in camps
because that's where Arabs want them to be. it is in fact a very cruel

Yes, although you can read the entire article if you want, not just
the section I linked to. is it perfect? No, it's not. But it's eons
better than South Africa under apartheid and incredibly much better
than America in the sixties. Part of the problem is that many Israeli
Arabs' allegiance is to their Arab brothers, not to Israel. They do
not love their country - they would love to see it destroyed. I'm sure
that is penetrating every aspect of government even if the Israelis
claim otherwise - it's only natural. if the Arabs were 100% behind
their country, probably every last bit of unfairness would vanish.

about three lines long but the classic work on it is something like
