The Leprechaun fairy watch Tipperary, Ireland
The leprechaun fairy watch webcam is in a hidden location in the field
in Tipperary, Ireland. This is an enchanted area, well known for
magical associations. There is fairy ring close-by and you may see
leprechauns and other Irish fairies such as pookas, banshees and
merrows. Because the Leprechaun Watch is in the countryside in a
remote part of Ireland there is only natural light and there will be
little or nothing to see after dark and before dawn. The time shown is
the current time in Tipperary, Ireland. In the summer in Ireland it is
often bright until quite late at night.
The picture will refresh automatically every 30 seconds. Don't forget,
if you see a leprechaun, pookas, banshees or other Irish fairy please
help us by reporting your sighting! You can also read other
sightingsof leprechauns previously reported.
Right: as though the Leprechaun's don't know
*exactly* where it is. Yeah. Right. Sure.

Alright, now we *know* this is shite:
ONE CANNOT "SEE" PÚCAS!!!!!

James Stewart was in more good films than anybody. Some bad ones as well,

Kim Novak was doing actual acting in that.

Ah - I had thought it more a case of:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055809/
(With Kim Novak),
The Phantom Piper
And very alluringly, at that!
Envying Pyewacket,
The Phantom Piper
You haven't missed much - (except for Kim, of course).
Not Recommending It,
The Phantom Piper
You know, this begs the question of what
I *would* recommend, and as we never got
to your suggestion of a Favourite Movies
listing (chiefly because of your perfidious
laziness in being unwilling to volunteer to
do all the work), I'll just throw out some
recommendations right here.
Comedys:
'The Ruling Class' - Peter O'Toole, 1972
[Hysterical: you may require medical attention.]
La Grande Bouffe - Mastroianni/Noiret/Tognazzi
[The darkest of Dark Comedies: darker than
'The Ruling Class'. About a group of wealthy
Gourmands who have a suicide pact to *eat*
themselves to death with gourmet food at an
All-You-Can-Eat Food And Sex Party in their
secluded retreat. Bizarre.]
'Just Visiting' aka 'Les Visiteurs' - Jean Reno, 2001
This is a little known treat about a medieval
knight who is transported to a modern town
via a Curse. Hysterical.
(And of course we've recently covered 'In The Loop',
which was howlingly funny, so no need to repeat it.)
Japanese Films:
For those of you who like nothing better than
to Read a good film of an evening, but prefer
colour to black & white, I heartily recommend
both 'Kagemusha, The Shadow Warrior' and
'Ran', both by Akira Kurosawa. Also, the
'Onmyoji' films by Yôjirô Takita:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0355857/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0383543/
are quite amusing, and give a striking visual
glimpse into the Heian Era, which gets little
coverage but which is much more interesting
than the Meiji Period, in my view.
I've already made my recommendations for
the Best Horror Films Ever ('The Haunting'
[the Original, not the crappy colour remake],
'Nomads', and 'Dead And Buried', but for my
Favourite Science Fiction Movies:
'The Day The Earth Stood Still' - [again, the
original version with Michael Rennie, not the
odious craptastic scoop-of-poop which was
recently shovelled upon audiences the world
over - Keanu Borada Nikto].
'Forbidden Planet' - Walter Pidgeon, 1956
(I understand they're remaking this as well,
for release later this year, God help us all...)
'Colossus: The Forbin Project' - Eric Braeden,
1970 (and yes, I see that they appear to be
producing a totally unnecessary remake - but
at least it's by Ron Howard so perhaps it won't
suck too badly; we'll have to see...)
Drama:
'Diva' - 1981, French Cast
If you haven't seen this, get it ASAP; it is
a very lovely little film which will touch you
if you're not already dead.
'The Piano' - 1993, Holly Hunter
Superb.
'Dead Man' - 1995, Johnny Depp
What a Treat! The Neil Young score is as
much as a Character in the film; see it!
Action/Crime Drama:
'The Usual Suspects' - 1995, Spacey/Byrne
`Nuff Said.
'La Femme Nikita' - 1990, Anne Parillaud
Très Excellent!
'The Professional' aka 'Léon' - 1994, Jean Reno
Right up there with 'The Usual Suspects'; Gary
Oldman's performance is spectacular.
Hopefully some of these titles will be new to
some readers; I could go on with such oddities
as 'The Bedsitting Room' and 'The Dog It Was
That Died', or 'How I Won The War' with John
Lennon, but the list would be far too long!
Cinematically,
The Phantom Piper
I own Kurosawa's DREAMS.

I own that one.
I own the above plus many more courtesy of a gift many years ago of an
American Film student who was heading back to Chile after completing his
studies here. He shipped a couple boxes of films to me because he couldn't
take them with him.
- nilita
Speaking of bizarre eating films, have you seen the 1991 film DELICATESSEN
(which I own)? And then there's 1982's EATING RAOUL.
- nil
You probably already know this one and if not, I do highly recommend it,
Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot (Mr. Hulot's Holiday) from 1953 and starring
Jacques Tati. It is primarily sight gags with very limited dialog ala Mr
Bean.
cheers......Jeff
An interesting enough film for Kurosawa fans,
but easily his strangest movie and the one least
connected to Japanese History.
For real Samurai Spectacle, try 'Kagemusha'.

I've been following. I must say, I'm a
bit concerned that although NuLab's
exposure is SNP's gain, how much of
a gain for the Tories is it as well?
My own dear brother is veritably rubbing
his hands together over this and doings
in London, and he's neither dumb nor
blind. Or, in Movie-Terms:
What benefits Isengard may not be to
Mordor's liking, but it sure as hell isn't
helping the Shire much either...
(I saw your posted Poll-Results the other
day; frankly I was shocked - shocked, I
say - at the performance of the LibDems
<chuckle>... I thought: "too bad these
nice fellows can't just be Absorbed into
the SNP rolls and add their - what was
it: ~3%? - to the cause...") */;~}
Ah well...
I'll put together a List Of Movies fitting
your Genre Descriptions (with an IMDB

via e-mail in the next day or so; use `em
or not as you choose.

Writing A Glowing Review,
The Phantom Piper
Nope. That's 'Ran' you're thinking of.
'Kagemusha' ['Shadow Warrior'] has nothing in
common with 'Lear', but is a very spectacular
(and frequently funny) vision of actual events in
Japanese History. And as for 'Ran', Kurosawa
only became aware of similarities to 'Lear' when
he had entered the pre-planning phase - years
after conceptualising the film.
However, you would be correct in that once he
_did_ note base similarities between the stories,
he went with it and actually made 'Ran' *more*
Lear-Like than had been planned when he had
scripted and storyboarded it seven years earlier.
You really owe it to yourself to see 'Kagemusha';
in my view, it's a better film than 'Ran', but only
marginally.
Immovable As A Mountain,
The Phantom Piper
And Hello Kitty.
Could be, I saw Kagemusha in the theatre when it first came out. I
haven't seen it since.

As a huge Jean Reno fan . . .
(Leon, Ronin etc)
Which 'Just Visiting' film is this ?
(*nglish language or sub-titles ?)
I've found Les Visiteurs - Parts 1 And 2 [DVD]
(The original French box office hit and sequel)
on Amazon for £8.13 which I may spring for.
I see there's also a 3 movie set but at over £50,
I'll pass !
If you haven't seen it, check Reno's Crimson Rivers :
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0228786/
Saw it first time around on a French movie
channel (sans sub-titles) and still enjoyed it.
There's also a 'Les rivières pourpres II'
which I haven't seen.

I saw it with the subtitles, in French;
I have no difficulty whatsoever reading

such were priceless! 'Les Visiteurs'
is the original title.

Oh yes: that's it. And I didn't know a sequel
