That's awesome......2 grand? WOW!
Congrats again! I think you should start signing up the fellas very
soon........some are gonna need plane tickets, etc.
KateH
She's not in the picture. I can't see any bare midriffs there.

Nice job on the fundraising...

Well, a handful of small "corporate" donations made up the bulk, but
friends, colleagues, and other people whom I expertly browbeat into it were
most generous indeed.

Well, there's the excuse so many of ye have been waiting for to take your
first ever holiday in Paddyland. I have almost convinced my sisters...
working on the bros now - just trying to explain the concept of the need for
false boobs and to shave their legs. They're a bit hesitant.

I'd take any excuse........it's true! :)

I can't imagine.
KateH :)
Just got in from gardening. Why, did I miss something while I was gone?

Of course. Didn't recognize him in drag.
J Duffy
Thank you :-) Really, people were very generous, and it was not difficult
raising money for a charity people know and many can relate to.
Cat(h) (your kind sentiments apply to all 31,000 women who
ran/walked/crawled)
Absolutely not......except the terrifying story of Tommy skinny
dipping.......you did see that, eh?
So, how's the garden? All planted? All weeded? What are ya growin' this
year?
Kate(unabashedly nosey)H
Came back to a lot of weeds after two weeks in the States. Growing a bit
of everything. Trying some nictotania to see if the slugs will get
hooked on it.
J Duffy
Nicotania is one of my favorite weeds...errr, flowers to grow.
You can do almost anything to them and they come back for
more...kinda like Unki.
Doc

I'll have to let them know that. They look the same now as when they
went in 4 weeks ago. None of the center sprouts have sprung.
J Duffy
Aww, you've been too kind to them. Go out and abuse them
royally...GoldenArse is a good example.
Doc
(sorry to hear that. Maybe it's the Midwestern arrogance. :))
My slugs love the stuff....it gets up about an inch tall and
disappears.......I've been told that the "N. alata" will "grow like a weed",
but I've yet to be able to get it established.
You growin' veggies? I'm trying some (new to me) heirloom tomatoes this
year.....Green Grape and Brandywine. And I didn't plant potatoes this
year........first time in ten years, probably.
Where'd ya go in the states.....or is this old news?
Kate(still being nosey......I guess)H :)
Damn......I knew someone was gonna say that.
Kate(killer of small flowering weeds)H
I went to Washington to talk Sen. Jeffers into defecting from the
Republican party. Given the cheap airfares I needed an excuse to go.
Seems to have been a worth while trip. No the Mrs. is doing the vegs (or
so she promises). I need flowers for still life paintings.
J Duffy
Well, you know, perhaps it *is* the Midwestern arrogance.
Doc
Nope.....it's the slugs.
KateH :)
Cool.......I didn't know you were a painter! :)
I grow those big, blousey, old fashioned roses.........and tons of bulbs.
That and everywhere you look there's a different kind of
Johnny-Jump-Up/violet/pansy. My flower garden has escaped the yard and
invaded the vegetable garden, though. Good luck to your wife in the veggie
patch!
KateH :)

A fine feat ye did there Cat, congrats!

Better that than the other way around. Unless you go for that colored
cabbage look.
J Duffy
What's up with that? Stuff looks like an escapee from a bad Star
Trek set.
Doc
(assuming you are referring to kale? How's the bog, Duffy?)
The bogs fine. Dredging a practice lane for this years snorkeling
competition. We had a great day with magnificent clouds today here in
Clare. The lads of Treannahow are still marveling over the power of the
splitting maul I brought back from the States to crack open stumps. May
start importing them if I get a few more orders. Have to figure out how
to ship them here though. I got more than a few looks strolling through
the airport with the thing.
So did you ever get to see Bono? Inquiring minds want to know.
J Duffy
Ah well......I'm an untidy gardener and do have lettuces in the foxgloves up
by the house.....haven't grown that spritzy winter kale, but I've got purple
cabbages.
Kate(does that count?)H
Haven't you seen you seen Ros Creasy's books on Edible Landscaping? :)
Oh, you mean digitalis? The drug/poison that REALLY gets the heart movin'?
Don't eat the delphiniums, sweet peas or bleeding heart either.
KateH
Practising medicine w/out a license again..........ehhhhhhhhhh Nutman?
KateH :)
