Early today, the world renown portrait of BFB was stolen by armed
robbers. The work, entitled "The Scream" is said to depict BFB when
first informed that he would have to work for a living. While clues in
the mystery are scarce, it is thought that the American Republican
Party may be responsible. Apparently, in response to Kerry's anti-out
sourcing campaign stance. The GOP strategists are of the opinion that
a frank demonstration of the horror that an honest job can engender
may convince Americans that shipping jobs to South Asia is actually in
the Republic's best interest. Bush gave a nodding endorsement of the
underlying principle by continuing his personal strategy of golf as a
substitute for any type of labor. Cheney, as usual, was unavailable
for comment, being closeted with the board of Haliburton.
Brilliant. Absolutely fuckin brilliant.

President George w. Bush commented:
We are concerned as are all Merkans that this terrible thing has happened
to our fantasticacious supporter, Bub. This stolen painting was the
corner post of our planiform to continue our challenge on the soft
bigotry of low expectations. We intended to use this painting to combat
people who can't read.
If you want to be blunt about what has taken place, sometimes when you
don't measure, you just shuffle kids through. Then you wake up at the
high school level and find out that the illiteracy level of our children
are appalling. We want results in every single classroom so that one
single child is left behind. Especially the ones that can't paint.
For example, if a school -- a child is trapped in a school for several
years that is -- that's not meeting standards, the federal government
will pay for after-school tutoring, and the parent can choose all kind of
tutoring options, whether they be public or private. One parent -- a
parent can send the school -- a child to a different public school. In
other words, when -- there has to be accountability in order for a -- I
mean, there has to be a consequence in order for an accountability system
to work.
Education belongs to everybody. High standards belongs to everybody. As
we work to keep the peace we've also got to work to make America a better
place for all of us. I mean every single citizen. That means we've got to
have an education system that is next to none.
I don't need to tell that to the people in this room, but there is some
in our country believe in the -- what I call the soft bigotry of low
expectations. They don't believe in the bigotry, but because there's low
expectations, there is a soft bigotry.
We're beginning to change the way of thinking, so we ask the question,
before we put you anywhere, we want to know what you know. And if you
don't know what you're supposed to know, we'll correct it early, before
it's too late.
We must have the attitude that every child in America -- regardless of
where they're raised or how they're born -- can learn.
If a person doesn't have the capacity that we all want that person to
have, I suspect hope is in the far distant future, if at all.
You teach a child to read and he or her will be able to pass a literacy
test.
Reading is the basics for all learning.
It's important for you all to understand that when our country speaks,
that we mean it, and we do what we say. I said either you're with us or
you're against us. I meant that.
We think this theft of a painting of Bub was to warn us that other thefts
are going to happen. We're not going to wait for that. We're coming to
take your paintings into safe custody just like we did in Iraq. So a big
thanks for taking the painting and forcing us to come over and bomb you
back to the Stone Age so you won't take any more paintings. And you
children out there who can't read this, keep looking at paintings.
