GARRETT: Thanks for coming down to this really important Adelaide City
Mosque this morning as we announce a further round of support for
heritage projects under the Government’s Jobs Fund.
I am really pleased that we are able to recognise the distinctive
contribution that the Islamic community, through this mosque, has
made. This is an important building not only for the community itself
but also for the cultural heritage and history of South Australia.
The Adelaide Mosque was built in 1888, and is the oldest mosque in
Australia.There was a bush built rough " mud Mosque at Marree then
called Hergott Springs a few years earlier built by and for the
Caelleers from the inland district Its original four minarets were
added in 1903.
Muslims from as far away as Broken Hill and Kalgoorlie gathered at
least once a year at the Adelaide Mosque, usually for the Fast of
Ramadan. In 1890 it was reported that 80 Afghans were present to
observe this important festival.
Islam was introduced to Australia in the 1860s with the arrival of the
first cameleers, brought to Australia to handle recently introduced
camel teams. Thomas Elder brought 124 camels and 31 handlers to South
Australia in 1865, establishing a stud at Beltana. The handlers came
to be known as 'Afghans' or 'Syrians' although they were actually from
various countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran.

The VERY first international branch has opened of a world-renowned
science research centre, the Royal Institution of Great Britain. and
GUESS why they choose ADELAIDE South Australia , to open a NEW RI ,
after 200 years of only have ONE office its perfectly natural they

The Royal Institution has been a centre for scientific research for
two centuries and will now have a centre in the former Adelaide Stock
Exchange building.
The Duke of Kent performed the official opening.
The centre's inaugural director, Professor Gavin Brown, says it will

followers interpreted his differences as signs of his prophethood. Like
devotees of all cults, they rose to champion his cause with dedication. By
defying death and butchering others they made Islam the world's second
largest religion, now the biggest threat to world peace. The author argues

to avert the clash between barbarity and civilization, and a world disaster,

Sina's Challenge to Muslims
I receive many emails from angry Muslims, who sometimes beg me, and
sometimes order me to remove this site. I consider both, pleading and
bullying, signs of psychopathology. Argumentum ad baculum and argumentum ad
misericordiam are both logical fallacies.
If you do not like this site and want me to remove it, instead of acting as
a bully or as a victim, disprove my charges against Muhammad logically. Not
only will I remove the site, I will publicly announce that Islam is a true
religion. I will also pay $50,000 U.S. dollars to anyone who can disprove
any of the dozen of the accusations that I have made against Muhammad. I
accuse Muhammad of being:
a narcissist
a misogynist
a rapist
a pedophile
a lecher
a torturer
a mass murderer
a cult leader
an assassin
a terrorist
a mad man
a looter
I have debated with many Muslims. Their defense of Islam can be summarized
in two categories:
a- Denial of the authenticity of Islamic sources that report the stories of
crimes of Muhammad (example: debate with Edip Yukssel, a leader of the
Submitters)
b- Moral relativism and situational ethics, e.g., "In those days,
pedophilia, assassination, rape, raid, pillage, massacre and lying, were
common practices, so Muhammad is innocent because he did what everyone else
was doing." Muslims even go as far as to question the legitimacy of the
Golden Rule to claim I do not have any basis to condemn Muhammad. In other
words, who can say what is good and what is evil? That is up to the
messenger of God to decide. (Example: debate with Yamin Zakaria)
These are the main two arguments that Muslims present in defense of Islam.
Any rational person can see they are logical fallacies.
These charges are irrefutable. You simply can't disprove them because they
are reported in Islamic sources and as such they are as good as confession.
You can't acquit a criminal after he has confessed, unless you plead
insanity, which is my point.
Muslims often ask: "Who will judge whether or not an attempt to disprove
your accusations against Muhammad and Islam, was successful?" The readers
will be the jury. It is not difficult to see which side is right once both
arguments are presented without one side fearing the other. I will publish
the debates in this site. My opponents are also encouraged to publish them
in any Islamic site. Please note that I will not accept face to face
debates. The debates must be in writing.

The above challenge was issued in 2001 and it hasn't been met yet. See the

trying to refute me here , here, here and here. Is that all the Muslim
world can offer? Where are the scholars of Islam? Why such an important
task is left to a bunch of amateurs who actually do more damage to Islam?
Isn't it time that the real scholars come forth and refute my charges?
The truth is that several of the people that debated me were real scholars,
such as the eminent Pakistani scholar Mr. Javed Ahmed Ghamidi and his
disciple Dr. Khalid Zaheer. This debate is a must read and is available for
download. Dr. Zaheer is a learned man, a moderate Muslim and a good human
being. I have utmost respect for him.
As of this date (2007), I will no longer debate with people who want to
debate anonymously. I only debate with reputable scholars. I made this
decision because often, Muslims moved by their faith and zealotry, but with
little knowledge of Islam, challenge me to debate. They rehash the same
tried and refuted arguments that bore everyone and disappear. Then, other
Muslims, either accuse me of fabricating those debates or pooh-pooh my
opponents for not being scholars.
As of this day, I am also doubling the reward. If you are not a reputable
scholar, you can still win the prize. All you have to do is persuade a
scholar to debate with me. If he (she) disproves my charges or can prove
that Muhammad was a prophet of God, both you and he (she) will be rewarded
$50,000 dollars each. This is to encourage you to write to your admired
scholar and convince them that Islam is in danger and that it is their duty

Yes, Islam is in grave danger. Never, since its inception, Islam has faced a
threat as serious as this. Today, millions of ex-Muslims are questioning the
claimed truth of Islam, can make their criticisms heard worldwide, and
unlike before, not fear for their lives. As long as these questions are not
answered, this trend is only bound to continue, until the trickle becomes a
torrent and the fall of Islam becomes obvious. In the past, the critics of
Islam briefly shined like lamps in darkness, only to be put out by winds of
persecution. What is happening today can be likened to the break of the
dawn. Darkness has no chance in front of this much light. Muslims are
waking up and leaving Islam like never before. A spiritual and intellectual
revolution is underway. This is the century of enlightenment of the
benighted Muslims. The giant is finally awakening. The days of Islam are
numbered. This demon of hate and ignorance will be slain by the hands of
its own primary victims. The unity of mankind and the world peace are
around the corner.
Please advertise this challenge. Every Muslim must see it. This is like
throwing water on their fire. Nothing will dampen their zeal more than the
realization that among a billion Muslims there is not a single scholar who
can prove the wild claims of Muhammad, nor acquit him of these grave
charges. This unmet challenge has a sobering effect on them. They can make
any excuse, such as, I am not worth their response, that there have been
greater men than me who opposed Islam, or that I have been refuted already,
but they will not be able to fool themselves. The more this challenge is
circulated, the more Muslims will be forced to remain silent and doubt
Islam. Do not undermine the psychological effect of this impossible
challenge.

WINE companies are being forced to close their businesses and abandon
vineyards as demand for their product dries up.
South Australia's wine industry has plunged into a deep crisis that
threatens to claim hundreds of jobs.
Great Southern, Australia's largest agricultural investor until it
went into receivership in May, has announced it has shut the gates on
a large proportion of its 750ha of SA vineyards. Constellation Wines
has said it will close its Stonehaven Winery at Padthaway, in the
state's South-East, in November.
The announcement comes only months after it closed its Leasingham
winery at Clare.
Industry leaders expect 6000ha to 8000ha of Australian vineyards will
be left barren this year due to declining demand
Prime vineyard land in McLaren Vale is reportedly set to be sold for
housing.
Wine Grape Growers' Australia executive director Mark McKenzie said a
large percentage of the grape growing and wine making community was in
severe financial stress.
'"We have at least 20,000ha of vineyards more than we need," Mr
McKenzie said.
The wine industry needed to cut at least 10 per cent of Australia's
177,000ha of vineyards from production, he said.
The fallout of the wine slump has delivered bargain-priced wines to
consumers as companies look for new ways to offload unwanted grapes.
The crisis has been exacerbated by an export market crash from the
$2.98 billion peak in 2006-07 to $2.35 billion in the past 12 months.
The rising value of the Australian dollar is also making it difficult
to sell wine to major overseas markets.
Mr McKenzie said the outline of a Wine Industry Restructuring Action
Agenda had been presented to the Federal Government by four major
national wine organisations.
"The Government has made it clear they won't get involved in an old-
style vine-pull scheme," he said.
"An emphatic industry statement will be made at the end of this month
showing the scope and location of the oversupply in the wine
industry."
Mr McKenzie said research indicated a chronic oversupply of grape and
wine production in Australia.
The closure of the 10,000-tonne Stonehaven winery on November 27 comes
only 11 years after the $20 million plant and cellar door was opened
with considerable fanfare.
Constellation Wines spokeswoman Sheralee Davies said 12 people would
be made redundant at Stonehaven, which employed more than 30 people at
its peak.
Stonehaven has failed to sell since it was placed on the market in
August 2008.
Ms Davies said the Stonehaven and Leasingham brands were being
retained and the wine made at its other SA wineries, Reynella, Tintara
and Berri, depending on the fruit and its grade.
Great Southern was placed in receivership on May 20 and 750ha of
vineyards in SA at Langhorne Creek, the Riverland, Barossa Valley,
Adelaide Hills and Coonawarra have been on the market for many months.
McGrathNicol receiver and manager James Thackray said since funding
for the vineyards ceased on September 30, it had been unable to
undertake any further work on the vineyards.
"A report by a viticultural consultant has advised due to poor grape
prices and the high cost of irrigation, the majority of vineyards
within the scheme are not economically viable in the current market,"
he said.
Mr McKenzie said big vintages in the past two years, with another
large volume harvest expected next year, indicated a further decline
in grape prices. "We had a 30-50 per cent drop in grape prices last
year and there are indications of a further 20-30 per cent fall this
coming harvest," he said.
"The bottom line for growers is if they are out of contract and can't
find a market for their fruit, they are facing extremely difficult
market conditions in 2010."
