Did anyone notice that today's "special" announcement--which seemed to
be little more than a re-hash of previous statements--interrupted the
Oprah Winfrey show which was in the middle of a debate on the ethics
and logistics of the Iraq issue? Historically, how often do such
announcements get made at that hour? My already paranoid mind reels,
as though I witnessed a scene straight out of Orwell's 1984.

Depends on what time zone you're in, you know. What time is Oprah on
