What a BIG generalization!!! You are faking chinese for what they are
not.
'Some' do that while most don't. And there goes for people of any race.

This whole "East Timor rape victim mispresented as raped Indo-Chinese
women", therefore "No Indo-Chinese women were raped " scam is getting
way out of hand...
Fact 1- Women and girls were raped, mutilated and than brutally
murdered in East Timor AND West Java including Jakarta.
Fact 2- In East Timor's case, the army obviously did the raping and
killing, which the world ignored until the bloody pictures stared them
in the face
Fact 3- In Jakarta's case, even Habibie had admitted shock upon being
shown the evidence of the systematic rape-and-kill campaign by human
rights groups; there are strong evidence and witnesses that a faction
of the army orchestrated the raping and killing; the crime is now
being investigated.
Given the above facts are all over the mainstream media, and internet,
any idiots going around saying "can't find proof, because those
pictures are fake" better go examine their eyesight, or check
carefully if there's a sinister racist ghost inside their head.

I'm not sure if the man is trying to create confusion and promoting hits to
www.serve.com. So far it doesn't look like it. At least it looks like he is
right about the faked photos.
If you check the following site

You will see that the editor there has made a few statements about many of
the photos, that they are fake. Still their name is still stuck to at least
one of the photos.
I wouldn't trust sites which are proven to have lied. People who put East
Timor pictures in recent stories about the riots and rapes are liars, and
untrustworthy. Any data from them is suspect and should probably be junked.
Even if they didn't knowingly put false information, it shows they are
careless and cannot be trusted. They are rumour mongers..
Still, I know the riots happened.
Find your own reliable sources of information. You decide who you trust.
Takes more effort, but hey it takes effort to think.

People who condemn the fakes do not necessarily mean to say that rapes aren't
happening.
I for one believe the rapes are happening, and is indeed a henious crime, but to
fabricate "evidence" to gain sympathy is just as criminal.

an authentic identification
to situations as questionable as this. On the other hand, it does not
lend an identification of

Why is that people claiming the moral high-ground are the most likely

identify certain nationality much easier than those who didn't. The
evidence is clear, the picture shows two dark-skinned men closely
resemble native Indoesians, the victim closely resembles a Chinese,

I believe this is NOT a photo of the May Indonesian Riots.
I wouldn't bother about www.asiadragons.com.
They do admit getting it wrong, but they don't seem to be very quick in
doing corrections. I don't even know why they still keep "fake photos"
around, and bother sticking stuff like "Beware Fake Photo" on it. If it is
found to be incorrect just delete the image and the link. Or if a suitable

This is getting interesting as you hear one government branch and the other are
conflicting each other. Maybe they should talk to each other before picking up
that mic. Kudo to the Doc though.
I suppose the only moral to this is:
the truth will show one way or the other. I really have a hard time understanding
the shouting and screaming denying anything from rape to loot. Finger pointing
eventually will caught up with one, that I know for sure.
This is beyond a pinchful of doubt, just like we the US were hearing all that
about our president, and couldn't help but wondering Hmmmmm .....
That at least gives me a peace of mind for a little more assurance of knowing what
must have happened there during may. This is getting pretty pathetic. People need
a fast reality check with a large dose of IQ. This is a clear indication that there
are many social problems due to discrimination/corruption. The current situation
clearly indicates the two sides are not ready to mitigate. Further inference is that
all current effort is to be risked at the mercy of further stupidity should that
occur once again. And humanity never seizes to amaze me their ability to show their
potential in that respect (me included).
As far as I concern, I am wondering that other than afraid the collapse of Indonesia
will cause regional unrest, why am I sending my hard earned tax dollar to there in
the first place. If people make stupid mistake such as building high rises without
building bungalows for peasants, it is their money to throw away. Why should I pony up
my high tail to bail those SOB with their cronies? If they earn a dime should I expect
to share with them? If Indonesian really wanted to collapse, let them be, so they also
learn the lesson. This has happened before so that is no news. People couldn't read
history book and draw the lesson and that is not my fault. There sure weren't anyone
to bail when recession occurred in the US way back when. It is a good debate that IMF
is helping or just dragging the whole situation deeper. Especially when if Indonesia
should break up because of the current stupidity, who should we collect our payment
from then, as if we are going to get it back eventually?
Look, I am not trying to be hard on Indonesian in general. But I do believe one
should work hard and then help is meaningful. Finger pointing in any form is the
last signal of responsibility taking (Am I making sense here?). If you need a hand,
I am not stingy to lend you one, but I don't expect me to carry you all the way
through. Why am I paying for someone else's laziness just because they screamed
bloody murder? Can any of the senator or house rep can explain that little bit
logic to us mere mortal from your divine temple of the hill to here?
ps. I don't know, everytime I read this group I get worked up like this. Your guys
are making zero sense.

(To give my qualifications:) I am a systems programmer and have done
programming on both Microsoft and various Unix platforms.
The date on a file is proof of nothing. It is quite simple to change the
modification date on any file that one has access to. In fact, there is a
standard command called "touch" which does just this. This command comes
bundled with most any C/C++ programming package. I, myself, have used this
command to give several files a modification date much earlier than it was in
reality. There are probably shareware programs which can accomplish the same
thing. And anyone with a few months of experience in a lower level
programming language could write their own program to change a file's
modification date.
I'm not testifying for or against the authenticity of the photo. I'm just
saying that it's a waste of time to cite the file's modification date as
any kind of evidence, as it can be easily changed to whatever a person wants
it o be.
