Guna-guna is some kind of spells which have very wide applications. Usually
using water, yellow rice, etc as a tool. The purpose of guna-guna also very
general, like to hurt someone, to make someone crasy, sick, or to moke
someone fall in love, etc.

Literally? I think it means merits, advantages, much
significance; for those who involve in it.
In Java it's called: santhet.
In Ambon it is called : opo'-opo'.
In Bali (if I'm not mistaken) it is called: lia
The victim is usually called by the Jakartan as "kena tiup".

Not only in Indonesia. All over the world. In America too.
The whole former royal family (Tsar's) of Russia were
inflicted by Rasputin's guna-guna.

Then you have to go to Banten, Ambon or Ciamis.
If you are in Sumatra, try Pariaman.

It could be derived from the word "guna" which a.o. means to use i.e. abuse.
So the victim is influenced/used by someone else by means of casting a
spell. So I think it has a similarity to e.g. Voodoo, Macumba or Winti.

I think abuse is not "guna" but "salah guna".
