Dayak melindungi keturunan Cina

Berita ini saya dapat dari sumber saya di Kalimantan Barat.
Apakah ada yg bisa konfirmasi? Terutama mereka yg orang Dayak.
Banyak keturunan Cina mengungsi dari Jakarta ke Kalimantan Barat. Harga rumah
di kota Singkawang melonjak 4 kali lipat.
Suku Dayak di Kalimantan Barat sudah mengeluarkan 'mangkuk merah', panggilan
siap perang utk semua orang Dayak. Pemimpin suku Dayak menyampaikan ultimatum
terhadap bupati atau camat setempat yg menyatakan bahwa jika orang Cina
diserang suku Daya akan memisahkan diri dari Indonesia dan memproklamasikan
kemerdekaan. Kemudian ditambahkan orang2 Madura di Kalimantan Barat akan
dibantai habis (di mata mereka orang Madura dan orang Jawa tidak banyak
berbeda).
Tidak jelas yg mereka maksud orang Cina di Kalimantan Barat saja atau orang
Cina di Jawa atau di seluruh Indonesia.
Sebenarnya hubungan antara Cina dan Madura di Kalimantan Barat boleh dibilang
harmonis dan tidak ada masalah (tidak spt antara Cina dan pribumi di Jawa).
Mungkin ini reaksi dari terdengarnya isyu-isyu bahwa akan anda penyerangan
thd orang Cina yg terorganisir dari luar kota. Orang Dayak selalu menganggap
orang Cina sbg 'saudara' mereka walaupun pada tahun 1967 orang Cina di
pedalaman Kalimantan Barat sempat dibantai oleh suku Dayak karena dihasut
oleh ABRI.

saya.

If this is true, I agree that this is a very good news indeed. But how
can we be sure that what happened in Jawa and Sumatra will never happen
in Kalimantan Barat?

Don't forgetthat in the past they have turned their wrath on the Chinese as
well. I forgot excatly when ti happened but there was a time when every
chinese person had to evacuate the "Dayak" countryside.
Last year (?) they also massacred Madurese moslems so thousands of Madurese
resettlers went home to Madura.

True. As I said in the original post, they did this because they were
infiltrated by agent provocateurs sent by ABRI. Before the massacre, the
Dayaks and the Chinese lived side by side in the interior of West Kalimantan,
they were neighbours - both were dirt poor. There was absolutely no reason
for the Dayak to massacre the Chinese since there was no racial problem
between them. Strangely enough this happened after ABRI sent some soldiers
into the jungle to live with the Dayaks and it coincided with the military
campaign against remnants of PKI guerillas in the jungle of West Kalimantan
and Sarawak. The Dayaks were simple people with no education and it is not
too difficult to conclude that they had been manipulated by ABRI. ABRI could
have told the Dayaks that the Chinese were evil spirit and intended to rape
all Dayak women, the Dayak tribesmen would have sharpened their weapons
straight away.
ABRI's tactic at the time was 'get all Chinese out of the jungle and the
guerillas would starve to death'. It was devastatingly effective, many semi
urbanised Dayaks also starved to death because the Chinese traders who
brought daily necessities into the interior towns disappeared overnight.

After the Chinese were driven out of the interior towns of West Kalimantan,
the Madurese moved in replacing the role that the Chinese used to perform as
small traders. Until now no Chinese would live in the interior, they can only
be found in coastal towns of West Kalimantan, especially in the northern part
of the province stretching from Mempawah to Singkawang through to Sambas.
For some reason, the relationship between the Madurese and the Dayaks are not
as amicable as between the Chinese and the Dayaks. The Dayaks see the
Madurese as abrasive invaders and dishonest traders.
Note that I am not condoning the murder of the Madurese, merely stating my
observation. It's sad that it happened - that's why racial hatred has no
place in the modern world, whether it's against Madurese, Chinese, pribumi or
Dayaks.
It's also interesting that the New Order govt tried desperately to heal the
relationship between the Madurese and the Dayaks. In 1967 they sowed the seed
of racial division between the Dayaks and the Chinese. It is ironic that the
Dayaks and the Chinese got along fine and instead it created a new racial
problem between the Madurese and the Dayaks.
