C'mon not this one! I don't say she's not beautiful but Nadya Hutagalung is a
Australia-Batak. But I agree with your last point. Most women in Indonesia
are beautiful. :)

Care to explain what's wrong with Irian Jaya tribal women?
ranti.
Of course there are more beautiful women per square meter in Indonesia
than in Europe, but the most beautiful charming lovely girls live around
Bandung. My wife comes from Bandung but when I was still single I've met
many other girls all over Indonesia. The best are sundanese !

Siapa bilang Irian Jaya Women tidak termasuk yang bagus-bagus.

I was just 'arguing' with my very best friend about how she claimed
sundanese women are the most beautiful (girls.. you know what they
like), and then here I am in the Net, in SCI to be exact, looking
at the same exact thing... Don't tell me I'm paranoid.

When we held Indonesian Days in our campus, I was reading this book while
I was hanging around the stands. The book says the Sulawesian women are
the most beautiful across Indonesia. Although I've never personally met
any girl from Sulawesi, I think I'll vote "Yes" since this part of
Indonesia tends to be 'neutral' and almost 'unheard' like my home province.
hehehe..
Viva Riau !!!

Funny, your friend wouldn't happen to read the same book Peter read,
would she? Anyways, odd, but someone I respect very much here used to
say Menadonese girls are the most beautiful, which is what some of my
high-school friends back in Sby also say.
Personally, I think Ujungpandang and Balikpapan girls are prettier than
Surabayans. One of the prettiest girl I know came from Balikpapan. :)

Beauty doesn't last forever .....
But as long as it's there I'll bloody well enjoy it !!
My grade school teacher (lady) used to say, "Beauty is only skin
deep...but who wants to skin them?"
and, of course, the classic, "Beauty may only be skin deep, but ugly goes
all the way to the bone."
and last, "Who says a beautiful woman can't have a nice personality ...an

Being a Manadonese myself, I'd say your friends were 100% right ...:-) :-) :-)
Too bad there aren't that many of them on the internet.

Richard C Malingkas To boldly live like no one
kaw...@mcs.com has ever lived before...
When I went to Bali I found the women there extraordinary and the
individual features, hair, eyes etc exquisite. But I found the women of
Java to be the most beautiful women I have ever seen.
I am an American, and have lived in different big cities and have been
many places in the United States so I have seen a variety of persons.
I asked myself, why did I find the women of Java superior to those of
Bali. My head could not see it but my feelings were clear.
I decided that it was the inner quality or qualities of the women of Java
that made the difference. I found Bali full of superstition, and
"business" and lack of interest in others and respect for others. It was
a very superstious place. And in Jakarta and other places in Java I was
told the truth (except once about a bus fare).
While in Bali I was led to take a bus that went to the wrong destination,
and again. Then they would offer to take me where I was going for
10-thousand. The last time I just got off and walked. The nerve of
them! Little did they know that this American woman had spent 5 weeks in
Jakarta, going to clubs, making her way home at night (always safely). I
would take off to anywhere in the day, pehaps not meeting a person who
spoke English all day, then when it got later I would ask someone:
"Saya mau pergi ke Blok M? Saya mau autobus ke block M?"
And they would be so kind to direct me. And when I arrived at Blok M I
would again ask:
"Saya mau autobus ke Fatmawati" (Jalan Fatmawati is a big street.)
And I always got correct help. Later I came to recognize the "song" of
the driver or conductor of the bus I took to Fatmawati. Yes they would
"sing" something in a tune that was distinct from the other vans with
wooden benches front-to-back that posed as buses from the minor hubs.
And I would tell them:
"Terima Kasi"
To summarize: The most beautiful women I have ever seen were in Java.
The only place I have ever been where everyone could spell my entire name.

L.A. Chicago Who knows where next?
Now its Canoga Park, in the San Fernando Valley ("legally" L.A.)
P.S. I would like to do something that may be called art and would
certainly be shared with others... I would love to have travel stories,
especially if there could be added visual (films, pictures, slides,
videos, drawings, etc.) or audio (tape recordings, records, live
performance) to go with it.
I wish that I had a contact in the government of Indonesia for it would
be an honor to help others know what a fine place this is.

Hi,
Have you ever been in other islands of Indonesia? Lombok? Sumbawa?
Sulawesi? Sumatra? Kalimantan? Maluku? Irian? etc?
Ah.. ah.., I'm afraid you will always change your mind when you visit
another island after the other. Women, there, all are beautiful..!
We say in Belgium: "mooi, jazeker!"

I have to remind you that in Java especially Jakarta, people are coming from all over the country, so they are very diverse in ethnics, thus not only Javanese live there :)
