hello,

this is a doubt I have been having for years. most of you might have
noticed that when non-brahmins go to temple or have a pooja performed
at their house, the brahmin priests make those non-brahmin family members
to touch their feet. even though the non-brahmin elders are much older
than the brahmin priests, still these brahmin priests insist on touching
their feet by non-brahmins. these priests say that touching their feet is
equivalant to touching the feet of hindu gods and godesses. in other words
they are telling that they themselves are hindu gods and godesses.

this is another myth created by brahmins in order to have a controll
over hindu society. all non-brahmins should stop going to temples where
brahmins are priests. stop touching these crooks' feet. stop respecting
these crooks. as most non-brahmins might have heard, these brahmins are
more poisinous than snakes. there is a saying that clearly states that if
you see a snake and a brahmin at the same time, don't hesitate to k*** the
brahmin first. dear non-brahmins, please that in mind all the time.

sincerely,

km

As long as the belief that God exists, I think, this system exists!
But, it a "pundith"/"purohith" starts demanding, he looses value!
Example is given by "km".

In a typical marriage, the newly wed couple is supposed to take blessings
from elders. The question is who is "elder"?
Elder by age? by Caste? by Popularity? by Relation? by Position? by Status?
by education?

Generally, we accept what others ask us to do, giving benefit of doubt
when we do not know something. But, if any "pundith" takes it for advantage,
yes that particular situation, that particular "pundith" qualifies for
derogation.

What do you mean by "brahmin" here? If you meen "pundith", I am with you.
If you say, you mean any person belonging to the caste "Brahmin", let me
tell you my dear, you are talking "emotionally". When emotions flare up
ones brains seek shelter in ones knees!! Let me tell again, singling out
a whole sect or community never solve anything. It will only add fuel
to the flame. If you have something against somebody, better takeit up with
that person face to face.

sincerely,

Why should this system exist even if people beleive in god? There is
nothing similar to this tradition in other relegions. Why should only
brahmins be pundiths/purohiths in hindu relegion? Can non-brahmins who
can learn some sanskrith slokas become pundiths and purohiths in hindu
temples?

I think the originol poster was refering to brahmin priests. Respecting
elders of the family is nothing wrong. Nothing wrong when newly wed couple
do paada-namaskarams to their parents and elders, becuase these were
the people that are sresponsible for their existance. But, doing the
paada-namaskaram to a completely strange brahmin purohith is ridiculous. I
remember a drunken brahmin priest performing the marriage of a friend of mine.
Why did all the people tolarate this drunken priest? Just because he was
a brahmin, they thought it was okay. Had I been the person in charge, I would
have kicked this priest out of wedding mandap.

No, I assume the original poster is not refering to a particular pundith.
It is the system and belief that millions of people continue to beleive in.
Absolutely there is no need of brahmin ONLY priests. Like any other
profession these days, anyone that is interested should become a priest.
These brahmins too are just human beings like others. They are in no way
superior to others. That is the bottom line.

I hate it when people time and again try distinquish between the brahmin
according to BS vedas and the caste known as brahmin. Again, refering to
BS vedas to define brahmin is another polly that brahmins use to their
advantage. This kind of shit argument they bring it in whenever they have
been blamed for the eveils that they created in present day hindu
society. No, i don't think the original poster was talking about a
particular person. He/she might be talking about whole belief. Whole
system. Whole misgivings. Whole non-sense. That is how I understood the
article.

Yes, they can, and do, all the time.

I know, it kinda ruins your self-righteous rage.

So, you're against the caste system, but you think anyone born a Brahman
is evil.
