And Waheeda Rehman is from Rajahmundry (expand your horizons from
telugu films to include hindi ones also, folks!!)
Siva Prasad.
I am amazed at this thread! I was told that there is single caste
that controls the film industry and for any actor to make it to
the screen one must be from that caste; there are ofcourse exceptions.
When such is the case, one can fix the region from which all these actors
will be coming from, unless of course one deals with the earli fifties
and sixties.
So this thread as such has very little meanign unless soem affirmative
action plans are brought to bear on the film industry.
Please don't make this into a caste discussion, for heaven's sake!

...hmmm..., what a ridiculous statement it is!!!!!
The film industry may be controlled financially by
a set of people coming from a particular caste, but
as per as actors/actresses/writers/directors concerned,
they come from all kinds of castes. The beauty/talent is
important to make it big in case of actors/actresses.

...wow...., affirmative action in film industry!!!????
I refrain from talking about this, and leave it to
other intellectuals to dwell upon:-)

What a surprise to hear this from a racist scum!!!!

You should have talent to get into a field it is not caste .
A.P is always ruled by one particular caste that does not
mean that you can't rule A.P without coming from that caste.
If you have the capability you can do it.
I do not know why people always sit and enjoy thinking
that I can,t make it ... because some one is a hindarance, to my efforts.
We come to U.S and say American's Graduate faster because
the professor's show racism ... (come on man that's not true they really
work hard).
If our neighbour is rich and happy we say I would have been rich but
the neighbour has all the money in this world and he is stopping me from
becoming rich.
I think it is basically a psychological problem.
Basically we have to get out of these psychological illnesses.

We all know what kind of "capability" one has to posses to come up in
Indian politics. Do you say Nagarjuna became an actor because of his
"talent"? There are several others who belong to this "talented" group in
our movies. There are plenty of talented actors and politicians all over
A.P.
They don't get the kind of recognition they deserve because of their caste,
region and lack of contacts with the people who control these two
institutions.

That's true. But a rich person can become richer very easily.
