A hell of a lot fo posts on brahmins... Too many... The last one to which I am responding
was the breaking point for me...

The creating sub caste of 6000 niyogi's is the prime example of outrageous caste
politics pervading andhra... NTR has been blamed of using caste politics!! poor
man!

Historically, the following story is the accepted one about how the casteism
went overboard in andhra...

It was mukku timmanna's time. He was the favorite in a certain king, whose
kingdom, was estimated to encompass about 6000 villages in the krishna-godavari
basins.

The king was a bastard. He sucked blood of the poor, and taxed like a spendthrift
democrat in USA. The ``official tax/revenue collectors'' (I dont remember their
titles) had their sympathies with the people's feelings. These people were from teh
business class (or vaishyulu). They, in true spirit of democracy revolted against
the king.

The king panicked. Timmanna was presented this problem as a theoretical game.
He comes up with a solution. Get hold of ~ 6000 people who can add and subtract,
and replace all the really worthy revenue collectors (who were the best people
suited for the job), with these newly elected 6000 worthless and unsuited people...

ever since the tyranny of karaNiikaalu started. timmanna cant be blamed too much for
being partial to people from his own caste when selecting the 6000, I guess...
IN those days, babar destroyed temples.. and kings just fought each other to
kill boredom,.. SO dont use Ur moral yardstick...

He wasnt directly involved is the general opinion of the people from whom I
learnt of this. he just happened to solve a problem...

Anyway, that was the beginning of the ripping apart of the caste structure
into petty sub-castes... The 6000 people called themselves separate... So did
the others do in a similar fashion...

In my opinion, only the rayalu people are worthy enough to demand separate
identity for having safegaurded south indian culture from the trio of bahmani,
ahmdenagar and bijapur... Others are just goats grazing on telugu bhoomi...
epecailly the brahmana castes...

telangana was the battle ground between the vijayanagara empire and the trio
of scoundrels. It was the frontline, that took the brunt of the sustained
muslim onslaught for over 250 years... Its now a waste land... Nobody gives
a damn about it anymore... Millions were supposedly slaughtered in this area
on a routine basis... no wonder we saw the ``idli-sambar-go-back'' and the
``avakaya-gongura-go-back'' agitations...

I agree that Krishnaraya was perhaps the best that we had.
What is meant by grazing on the Brahmana caste? I don't understand
this!

I thought that it is desirable to know historically aspects
that affected the lives of the Telugus! There is nothing wrong
in it! If brahmins were divided one day, and the need of the hour is
is to unite them, then let that be done by understanding past
mistakes. If Hindus are divided and the need of the hour is
to unite Hindus, then do so by understanding past mistakes
the past tradition. That is the way to synthesiZe novelties!

One understands what was the intention in the past, what was good
about it, why certain thing went bad, and make amends to that.

Anyhow I posted material that I felt is informative! Many of us
do not know many things!

Do you know that the gold statue in the hands of ahobiLamutt
jeer is indeed the one made by prataparudrudu! We had a college
level vyaasam on that story. When I saw the statue proper
in the villiage with the jeer, i simply could not believe
my eyes. So beautiful it is! Next time you visit India,
try to visit the jeer, and see the same. It is ours, of Telugus.
If we don't keep that in mind, it will end up in TN, and as part of
TN history; just like Madras ended up as TN.

I am a Tamil and yet my heart did warm up when you
proudly said that "It is ours, of Telugus". It is
certainly a great feeling. However, your next few words
rudely destroyed the true joy one would feel.
Are you not displaying divisive chauvanism ?

When I said that it is ours of Telugus, I did not mean the
patritic nonsense of the Tamil bigots. I meant, as you seem to be
incapable of understanding, that someday the TN will steal it as
part of its history, just as it stole Madras. Got it. There is
nothing patriotic in it. If it was not a question of stealth,
I would not have used the word, "it is of telugus" at all.
It helps to think, and more importantly from SCT skin heads.

Whether Madras should have belonged to Andhra Pradhesh or
Tamil Nadu, I honestly don't know except that Madras was
and is Tamil speaking land. However, your claim that
the gold statue you referred to will be stolen by TN is
quite strange to me !! I hope one day you would learn to
say things with some balance !

Is there a typo here ?

SCT skin heads ? Hmm..
You sure have some language skill !!
Your words amply display how well you think !

What's this paranoia about TN ? If U want to provide information,
as U claim U do, then do just that. Nobody needs ur feelings
and sentiments. So cut the crap about TN.

J Anand.
