Srinivas Iyengar is Ramanujan's father and Komalatammal is the mother.
Robert Kanigel's biography of Ramanujan, titled "The Man Who
Knew Infinity," Charles Scribner's Sons, New York(1991) is an
an entertaining read on Ramanujam.
A mathematician's Apology by G. H. Hardy ( Cambridge University Press,
1940)
is an emotional tale of how Ramanujan made it to Cambridge and
shows the magnanimity of Hardy. If you can get hold of a copy of this
book reprinted in the sixties with a foreword by C P Snow, it is still
better. Otherwise, search old issues of (may be fifties or so!) Harper's
for the C P Snow's article.

A word of explanation may be in order here.
Komalatammal might be translated as Komala Maa in Hindi,
in other words the actual name is Komala,
Ammal is a respectful suffix for all women,
especially after a certain age.
RS
Thanks for the explanation. Her name was Komalata, and Ammal
is added as a respectful and affectionate suffix.
