Saraswathi's veena is called Kachchapi/Katchapi (sorry I don't know
the standards of writing telugu in english script).

whether Manikya veena is the name or figurative expression
-- i do not know. but, there is a veena called Saraswathi Veena.

Manchaala Jagannatha Rao of Hyderabad All India Radio is
considered an *exponent* of Saraswathi Veena. He is a total
blind artist, and his younger brother assisted him throughout
his career, as a part of his own body! i dont remember his
name, but manchaala JR, saraswathi veena and brotherly
affection of his brother -- flash together in my memory.
(sorry for the gossip)

Saraswathi veena does not sound as *continuous* as a regular
veena, if this expression means anything! you can put
violin, veena, saraswathi veena and type writer, in this
order w.r.t. continuity in notes. but the distance between
saraswathi veena and type writer is very large, as saraswathi
veena is so sweet. (this is a layman's explanation, as i indeen am).

saraswathi veena is not same as gotu vaadyam
