Hampi Nunchi Harappa Daka by Tirumala Ramachandra

I wish to introduce the readers of TELUSA an excellent book ( Hampi
Nunchi Harppa Daka (1997), written by Sri Tirumala Ramachandra
[1913-1998] ) published by Appajosyula and Vishnubhotla Foundation. If
you have not read this book already, please read it. I enjoyed every
bit of it and moved many a times reading the incidents of the past
written by Sri Tirumala Ramachandra. Most of them are his personal
accounts with vivid description of places, people and political and
literary atmosphere in those days. It is like an auto biography (of 2/3
of his life) in 61 parts. It starts with his birthplace a few miles
from Hampi to Harppa where he went to work. the details are fascinating
and the description is absorbing. There are so many highly appropriate
poetry either written by the author or quoted in Sanskrit, Pali and
telugu. At every stage I felt the man very close to me, though I never
met him. I regret for not meeting him when he was alive. That brings
another important point that there may be some more that we do not know
and may regret later.

Copies of this book can be obtained from Sri Appajosyula Satyannaraya
garu ( see contact info below). In addition you will get ‘Pratibha
Vaijayanti’ ( 5th Ajao-Vobho
foundation facilitation special issue ) containing 28 interesting essay
on various topics from him .
