I am trying to compile a list of Telugu Slang Expressions. I can think
of 2 right now, and I will post more as I remember them, and learn
from other people.
1) nAku anta scEnu lEdu bAbu
2) Lightga tHisuko ( Hyderabadi?)
Please add the ones you know to the list, Also, some interesting
comments on that particular expression like slang from which part of
AP., would be very appreciated.
Thanks In Advance
Venu
1. Cat -> used equally for genuine praise or for obvious falttery
2. cat is widely used with "cAt mAya nuvvu"..very commonly used in Vizag
for ridiculing the other person
3. BTW, I have never heard "lightga Thisko",...it's always "light thisko"
4. Enjoy! as in Enjoy...
5. Pandaga chesko...to convey "this will make you happy"
6. Jaga is used as a stand alone to convey "wasting something"...usually
used as "jAga bokka"
These are from the Vizag thread..
Katti (knife) - Analogous to the American "cool"
maayya ( distorted form of "maavayya") - Guys often address each other
using this.
Thanks folks.. lets hear more..

- "Pulihara ayya/amma" where pulihara actually means yellow
