To be a Christian, you have to believe that salvation is possible
only to those who accept Jesus Christ as their savior.
Furthermore, this salvation is not earned thru deeds, but is a
gift of Christ, who has already paid for the sins of humanity
with his own life.
Clearly, Christianity holds that a person who lives a good life
cannot achieve salvation, unless and until he accepts Jesus
Christ as his savior. On the other hand, a person who commits the
most heinous of crimes and sins, can still achieve salvation by
accepting Jesus Christ. There is no crime or sin so horrendous
that the love of Jesus cannot absolve you of it. Also, it is
wrong to say that these crimes and sins must be committed before
becoming a Christian. The love of Jesus knows no bounds, period.
This notion of divorcing salvation from deeds is, in my opinion,
abhorent.
I have specifically identified the foundational principle of
Christianity, and explained in plain language why it is
fundamentally flawed. If you agree with my argument, then you
will find my conclusions eminently reasonable. If you don't, then
it is my arguments that need to be debated, not my conclusions.

satyam muktaye 'truth shall set you free'
Mr. Dixit is definately not Christian! (I believe he is Hindu- Brahmin. Of
course that is irrelevant. ) Why did you jump to the conclusion that he is
"converted Christian" by referring him as "house Nigger"?
His points need to be discussed properly. "Hindutva" as professed by
zealots is equally abhorant as fundamentalistic outlook of Islamists or
conservative Christians.
Your point was that Christians don't link actions to salvation, and hence
the religion is flawed! Mr. Dixit pointed out that every religion has its
flaws. No religion is flawless, and this includes Hinduism.
Hindu story of Sage Valmiki being transformed from a highway robber to
higher platform by just chanting Rama-nama is also based on the same
principle that by submitting to god (be that be Jesus, Rama, Allah, Buddha,
or any other God Figurehead), you will get salvation.
In Bhagavadgita Shri Krishna also mentions the same thing; that you
surrender to Him, and you will receive all the glories here and in heaven.
So from your own logic, Hiduism is probably equally flawed and I am not
mentioning anything about Caste system, untouchability, or womens plight!!
You profess that truth will set you free. Face the truth about Hiduism, and
remove the injustice, anamolies, corruption etc. from the ritualistic format
of Hinduism. This will make the Hindu religion stronger, and not by
belittling other religions.
You can contribute to the glory of Hinduism most, by removing the faults in
that religion. If you do that you will not need to attack other religions.
People will automatically come to Hinduism!
