"Palli" is not common in North now. It is very common in South
along with its variations.

"Palli" is actually a Sanskrit word. Palla a pile of grain. Thus
Palli is place where there are piles of grain, i.e. is a
market-place. Corresponding words are "ganj" and "hat", still
common in North.

The ending "Palli" used to be more common in North in the past.

Even Kannada we have a word "halli" meaning village eg: shettihalli
in Telugu "palli" means village(eg: madanapalli), both these words should have
come from Sanskrit.
I donot know of any north indian village or town ending with palli
