This is a common misconception we have about the Aryan Invasion.
The Aryan Invasion theory is no longer valid as people have found
no evidences to support that. So, the fact that Konkanastha Brahmins
are direct and pure descendants of Aryans is wrong.

Just so that I thought I might add another 2 cents worth.
While it's true that many (I would not go to the extent of saying all or
MOST) KoBras do have green/ light eyes and many people more out of
mischief than ignorance attribute it to Arabs or Portuguese etc., it may
be considered how come only the color of eyes and skin is acquired and
not other features like Facial characteristics, body structure, skull
shape etc. which are by and large typically "Indian".
As the story goes (which I have heard too :-) ) Parshuram found 14
ship-wrecked (and not 7 as someone had quoted earier) bodies of
ship-wrecked souls. As he had no Brahmans to perform the last rites of
his slain parents (due to the fear of SahasrArjun), he decided to
resurrect them and adopt them and then perform the last rites. He then
performed the yadnya to get life back to these people and having thus
purified called them "Chit - pAwan" meaning purified by the fire. These
fourteen later on formed the desendents of Parshuram.
With respect to the Jewish connection, though names like DanDekar,
Bedekar etc. do appear among BeNe Jews, it's because of the Marathi
influence (Maharashtri the ancestor of Marathi though similar and much
older) than Jewish. ---kar means "beholder" and thus daNDekar would mean
associated with coast or wharfs (dANDi). Similar enhancements by Marathi
were "EkAranti" surnames which developed much later e.g. Mauryas became
Mores, Chaluyas became SaLunkes (in Gujarat, the variation is SoLanki)
etc. Many KoBras (especially PuNekars) pride on "EkAranti names" but
such names are found from BrahmaNs to MahArs, because of the Marathi
influence. One of my Jewish friends even thought that "Joshi" were
originally from the tribe of "Joshua" ... :)
Coming back to the eye connection, I wish to point out that neither the
majority of the population of Arabasthan and Portuguese possess green
eyes and though we belong to the same "Caucasian Med." race so do all
the other Indians. :-) Some of the Indians are so dark and yet possess
well-defined features, that we don't think about any "ship-wrecked"
Negroes, do we ? Anyway, it's possible that several people, Shaks, the
HuNs, the kushANs, the Greeks were assissimilated over thousands of
years and that some features did persist. Would it be hard for us to
imagine a golden-haired blue-eyed Hindu ? Probably yes,but many years
ago such people did live - as a rule than an exception before they were
violently converted to Christianity. Vast populations in Rajasthan and
Gujrat were shepherd migrants from Central Russia (Georgia) and thus
gave Gujrath its name (Gurjar - Georgia). This might explain their fair
color and lighter eyes. Could some of these Russians moved further south
and were accepted into the KoBra fold ? As far as Ayers and Ayengars of
TN are concerned they definitely have a Mid-Eastern ancestry having
being "Ahirs" (variation in marathi is again Ahire, but this name is NOT
in BrahmaNs as in TN) who were staunch enemies of the "Yadavs" off the
Gujarat coast. But then, who knows what exactly happened in the course
of history ? Speaking of that, I wonder how people haven't wondered, how
exactly the Afro-featured "Dravidians" got in between vast tracts of
land bounded by Caucasians one side and the Mongloid race on the other ?
:-))) All we have is a lot of questions and only guesses for answers.
Regards,

Except for the four southern states, who speak languages not related to
the Indo-European family, the habitants of the rest of Bharat belong to
the (so-called) aryan race (sic). In all this, I wonder if people with
light eyes constitute even 0.1 percent of the population. This contradicts
the above stated premise, that the Chitpawans are the remnants of the
"invading aryans", which further supported by much stronger and convincing
evidence, does not hold true.
The sites and vintages from the Saraswati-Sindhu culture (or the
Indus Valley Culture), which erstwhile was considered to be Dravidian in
nature, extends upto southern Maharashta (from northern borders of
Pakistan); the inhabitants in this land therefore are a parcel of the
Dravidian race. Therefore, most of us are Dravidians and not Aryans. It
would be very amusing to consider, again without any historical proof's,
that only, say, 10000 Chitpawans and some others, drove away some millions
of Dravidians from their homeland - and further, even assuming that they
did, were later relinquished to a small tract of land in the Kokan region!
:-)
It should be realized that this aryan-dravidian theory is a big mockery of
history and its' time that it be abandoned. It is amazing to see people
trying to relate one thing with another - and that too with a non-existent
aryan invasion theory!
As to the origins of the Chitpawans: some say that they are part of the
Jewish community who escaped the horrors in the Middle East, shipped
themselves to Bharat and settled down in regions of KokaN. And ofcourse,
it was this geographical location that assigned them the appelation,
Kokan-astha : inhabitants of the Kokan.
One another theory suggests that a community migrated to the Kokan area
after the Islamic invasions of Iran.
Either way, I am not sure what to or what not to believe, the theories
explain the physical characteristics of the Chitpawans: fair skin, light
eyes, straight nose, et al. For lack of a better alternative, I would go
for the Iranian-saga, for the Chitpawans are more closer in looks to the
Iranians than with the Jews, and the Arabic massacre (alias Islamic) in
that region is too well-known, during which people were either killed, or
those who were lucky, escaped.
The classical Kokanastha features are fast depleting, as also, their
stauch and strong individual character.
