I thought it would be a good idea to find songs that
go along with the Malayalam Alphabet. I can start off
with Aa and Aaa (next E and Ee) and everyone can join
in with their songs that start with that letter.. Every
week (approx.) we can start on the next one.
This is one way to get back the Malayalee newsgroups from
Quote "the many whose bodies left their minds behind at
puberty and whose idea of a noble accomplishment is to demonstrate

IMHO, Alliyaambal kadavu is just a generic term, there is
no such kadavu in kerala. Any pond or river bank with
Aambal poovu is termed aambal kadavu.
I remember one time when I was about 10 years old, my
neighbor had gone to an Aambal kadavu nearby (we were
staying in Alwaye at that time) to pick some of
the beautiful lilies and drowned. He was a young
10 year old named John and I remember his family
weeping when they brought him home.. Every time I
hear that song, I remember the little boy who had
gone to the kadavu to pick flowers for someone..

Yes, only Sri. Dakshina Murthi could have given such a beautiful color/life
for the above 'Aanandabhairavee....'.
I have always felt that Sri. Dakshina Murthy is the most knowledgeable music
director malayalam/ south India has ever produced. Unfortunately (or,
fortunately ?) he is not known to many people outside Keralam, may be because
he has never tried to commercialize the music. Who cannot like the following
songs ?
