Gujarat press is still afraid of not paying lip service to though
irrational but institutionalized written Gujarati since Gandhi
intervened some 70 years back. Likes of Shah dread simplified and
revitalised language.
A funny thing about the guy is that he is in love with fake encounter
fame Gujarat Police Officer Vanjhara. When asked why he joined him in
jail Shah became abusive. Could it be that he went there to provide
COMFORT to his hero?

Ahmedabad: A noted columnist and editor of a Gujarati language
magazine was today arrested by the city crime branch on charges of
fraud, police said.
Saurabh Shah, who started a weekly magazine called ''Vichardhara' in
2006, was arrested after a complaint was filed against him by one
Surendra Chauhan on behalf of a group which owns a vernacular daily
here.
The complaint alleged that Shah had committed fraud by not paying dues
to the company which have been pending since long time, police said.
Shah has been sent to police custody for two days, police added.
'Vichardhara' magazine was started by Shah in 2006. Gujarat Chief
Minister Narendra Modi and religious leader Morari Bapu were the chief
guest at the inaguaral function of the magazine.
Initially the magazine started as a weekly, but its second edition was
late by 15 days. The subsequent editions were published at irregular
intervals, those who were associated with it said.
There came a time when the magazine was not publised for nearly six
months, they added.
Advertisements of 'Vichardhara' magazine, with picture of Modi, once
again appeared arcoss the city before the Assembly elections in 2007,
they further said.
About two editions of the magazine were printed during the election
period, they added.
According to sources, there was discontent among people involved with
the magazine as they were not paid salary regularly.

Gujaratis on internet are significant in numbers with their blogs, but
they rarely post on either of these news groups. In blogs they feel
safe as they can avoid a critical comment.
