MAPUSA: Yet another incident of way-laying
tourists was reported at Calangute on Wednesday night in which a couple
was robbed of mobile phones and cash amounting to 15,000.
According to the Calangute police, the incident occurred when a Pune-based tourist couple staying at a guest house at Gaurawaddo, Calangute was returning late night to their guest house.
In their complaint, the couple said that while they were on their way, two unknown persons intercepted and threatened them by brandishing a gun-like object and decamped with two mobiles, 15,000 in cash and a two-wheeler that the couple had hired. A police complaint was later registered.
Incidentally, this is the second incident of the same nature to have taken place in Calangute within just a week , with the culprits of the last incident still being at large.
