I don't remember anything on stone #1 being inconsistant. Some of the other
stones, yes. Brenau is only protecting stone #1, and it's the only one they
believe is real. And even that varies depending on who is doing the asking.
Roanoke Island has become a wealthy resort area, and Brenau, i.e. Jim
Southerland (the one was interviewed by In Search Of), seems to be cautious
in what he says now-a-days. Being that we have identicle stones, he's asked
me to bring my stone up to the University. Sort of a "I'll show you mine, if
you show me yours," proposition. :) We'll see.

I find it interesting that Sparkes, the author of the Post's article that
claimed the stones were all fake would continue to look for Hammond, the
finder of stone #1. According to the Atlanta Journal and Constitution,
"Boyden Sparkes died on the North Carolina coast in 1954. He kept up a
correspondence over the years with members of the Emory faculty, discussing
his continuing efforts to track down L. E. Hammond. He never found him."

Doesn't sound like the actions of a non-believer to me.

Could you-all please remove sci.lang.translation.marketplace from
