Ok! Andy, Leon, Jacky, and Aaron seen to have ruled the HK music scene
for enternity now...and I don't see them going anyway in another five
years...but I just want to know what/who you think will be the next
generation's version of the Sky Kings.
Here's what I think:

Louis Koo--handsome, cool, and charming! even as a guy, I think he's cool!
Maybe the new version of Andy...

ChiLam--he really has only come to the forefront this year, but he is
very likable, and really has a pretty good voice, just haven't
got the break yet.

Andy Hui--Andy was up there, but his popularity seen to have gone down in
last two years. So I am not really sure on him..

Edmond Leung--Here's another not-sure. Actually many people like his
songs, but not all calls themselves his fans. I think he
he has been lucky with those good songs.

Daniel Chan--Here's a really not-sure, because he is new, and maybe
next year, he's just an after-thought. But I don't see it,
with all his fans!

Well, that's about it for me...

I agree with your choices, especially Louis Koo. I do not know how popular Louis
is in Hong Kong, at least he hasn't made a name for himself here in Singapore.
However, I think he has the most potential to be the next Heavenly King and as a
guy myself, I also think he is cool and has a style of his own. He is one of a
kind.

As for ChiLam, I think he sings well but he can sing better. He has his own
charms and I think with more hard work in singing, he should be the next
Heavenly King.

For Edmund Leung and Andy Hui, I think as a singer with certain degree of depth
and strength, they should one day shoot to stardom.

Daniel Chan has the looks but I think Leo Koo is also cool, may be he should be
in the list as well.

Of course, we should not forget Ekin Cheng, whose name is now as loud as a
thunder in Hong Kong and he is now the closest to Heavenly King.

That's all folks!

I have a question. Which of the 5 singers mentioned above has ever broken a single
6-platinum album? The answer is none. The 4-sky-kings have done it several times, and
a few of their albums have been sold over a million copies, especially Jacky Cheung.
Who wouldn't know the name "4-sky-kings" among all ages? However there're exceptions
like Ekin Cheng. He's getting there.

As for Tung Tung, he's the most unqualified one. No offense to Tung Tung.
However, I would like to point out
that he's *NOT* a superstar. He *NEVER* have any major concerts anywhere,
not even in HK. He *NEVER* have any popular movie(s) / tv serial(s), yet
he's seriously lacking experience. Most importantly, he *NEVER* have any
popular album. He has totally released 4 albums. The bad sales *CAN'T*
define him neither as 1st/2nd/3rd line singer. Sadly, one of the 4 albums
(believe to be a compilation) *COULDN'T* even make it to the top-10 of the
IFPI sales chart. His most recent album "You're My Only Love" only stayed
2 weeks on the IFPI, positions 7 and 10 & then disappear. It's even lower
than others whose albums have already been sold for many weeks. Wrapping
up the stated facts, Tung Tung has no popular movie/tv serial, no major
concerts, poor albums sales, with lacking of some real strength. If this
is what's called a superstar, then I'm sure there are just too many there
in HK. Kelly Chen, who enters the music industry about the same time as
Tung, is much much more successful in terms of everything. However, Tung
Tung has the baby face & is the idol of "some" baby girls (ling mui jay)
in HK...yes, just HK

But Louis Koo seems going down recently...I mean, he's not so popular
as before...Capital Artist should release his album as quick as they
can...anyway, I have heard of Goo Chai singing...he sings pretty well.
His song is called "Man should not cry??????" (???? = forgot the part)

In article <32b77b9d...@news.concentric.net>,

I don't think that Louis is not as popular as before but I am not sure about
that anyway. However, I think the impression that Louis is not as popular as
before is imposed by the media. They just don't seem to be interested in Louis.
They just keep churning out news about the four kings and ekin. Also, there is
almost nothing about Louis recently - no movies, no TV serials, no albums, no
news. I guess all the Louis fans out there must be damn frustrated to be able to
find nothing of him. Also, he is not much featured in the recent TVB
anniversary. All these might have compounded to the impression that Louis is not
that popular. You are right, capitol artist should release his album as quickly
as possible. Don't know what is taking them so long.....

Louis is not feature much in the anniversary, because that`s reserved
for the really big time stars....like Dodo, Wong Ming Tung, and the
Four Sky Kings, etc..people are getting the impression that we are saying
that these guys should be a SKy King...No, we are just predicting who can
move up, that's all..so what if he`s not heard much these days...which
can be very illusionary....he has potential, though

I personally think that ChiLam and Ekin would be the rising
ones in the next few years. They have looks, good voices,
(well, ChiLam does but I think Ekin still sounds a bit funny
when he sings, but it's improving though); and they are in
movies and TV series as well.

But Ekin Cheng really cannot sing. He has a hard time
reaching higher notes. Listening to his singing makes
me feel awful since he doesn't really sing, he just
mumbles the words. His acting is OK, however.

As far as sky king, I really have no one in my mind.
I really cannot find any male singer in HK who
I can regard as outstanding. Jacky and Hacken are
certainly good. However, I am really disappointed
with them since their recent songs are downright
boring. Every songs sound the same.

I true think that the female singers in HK are far
more impressive than the guys. Look at Cass, Sammi,
Faye, Sandy and Sally, they all are in a class by
themselves. It is meaningless to point out what is
the sky queen since they are all outstanding.

This is true, however, Ekin should rise earlier because he is not very
young, if he is still in the same condition as now 2 years later when he
reaches his 30s, it will be really hard for him to become the Heaven
King of Next Generation. In comparison, Chi Lam, Louis and maybe Daniel
Chan are in a better condition. Louis and Daniel are very young, and
for Chi Lam, since I personally adore him, therefore I noticed more of
his news, where a lot news media, directors in Hong Kong said that if he
continues, he will have a big chance to become a future Heathen King.
And in Taiwan, he's already called the "next Emil Chow", who is a great
singer.

Chi Lam really has good voice, as a male idol with good looking. Ekin
definitely has good looking, but his voice doesn't seem to improve a lot
from the day he started singing. For TVB series and movies, Ekin,
Louis, and Daniel seem depending on their cute lookings more...

Emil Chow and Wong Kit are already kings of THIS generation, concerning
their experience and age. Only that they are kings in a different way
from Andy Lau and Jacky Cheung, but they are all in the same generation.
