What did you expect. Let's take all of the politics out. If you were
the president of Laos would you let someone that could potentially
rally the oppositions in Laos to overthrow the government, even if
that person have no desire. With GVP being in Laos the oppositions to
the LPDR will use that to rally their supporters to overthrow the
LPDR. In this case the LPDR already trial him and sentenced him to
death, if they don't carry out their sentences when he gets there they
will lose credibility within their own country and potentially lose
control of the country. If they did execute the sentence the whole
world is watching, they will lose credibility in the world or it could
spark unrest by the oppositions to the LPDR within Laos. It's a lose-
lose for the LPDR. I am pretty sure that GVP knew that, that's
probably why he offered to go to Laos without consulting the LPDR
first.
