HONOLULU, October 1st--Actor James MacArthur (Danno), of "Hawaii
Five-O," is associate producer and co-host with Hawaii media personality
and
independent TV producer Emme Tomimbang, on a special one-hour "Memories of
Hawaii Five-O" segment of the monthly "Emme's Island Moments" program. The
nostalgic look and update of the "Five-O" gang will broadcast on Sunday,
October 20 at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, October 27, 1996 at 3:00 p.m. on NBC
Hawaii News 8.
This television special features poignant glimpses
behind-the-scenes as
shared by Mrs. Jack (Marie) Lord, MacArthur's interview of Richard Denning
(the
Governor) at his San Diego residence, and the often times emotional
recollection of stories by many supporting cast members like Kam Fong,
Zoulou,
Al Harrington and others. This show will be enjoyed by every "Hawaii
Five-O"
fan.
"It is a nostalgic look back on Hawii Five-O which brought Hawaii
into
people's homes all over the world," James MacArthur said.
"Hawaii Five-O" is the only show that had been shot entirely on
location in Hawaii, and to this day, retains the distinction of being the
longest running cop show in television history, from 1968 through 1980.
The
one-hour special will pay tribute to Jack Lord and the show's
creator/producer
Leonard Freeman.
The "Memories" TV show will precede two "Five-O" reunion events.
The
first is planned at the Burbank Hilton in Los Angeles, October 25-27, 1996,
and
the second is to be held in Hawaii, October 28-November 3, 1996. In
addition,
KFVE will be airing the five most popular Hawaii Five-O episodes the week
before the primary telecast of the "Island Moments" special.
