Alvin - given that you have net access...and that you obviously
have...to
find out what is happening in Hawaii:
http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage
But you already knew that, didn't you?
I know that the frontpage is not the same thing as a
web page, and I don't take the Advertiser. So how would
I know? With the Star-Bulletin, it's webpage is very
different from it's front page.

[chuckle] Well, you were the one who brought up the Advertiser, not I
(check the heading of this thread, started by you). I merely wanted to
point out that when you are on the Mainland you don't have to all the
way to
the Newseum in Washinton, DC, to get Hawaii news - specifically, the
Advertiser news. Ditto the Star-Bulletin news.
As usual, Alvin, I find you vague and imprecise - engineer though you
may
have been. So what exactly is it that you are saying? That the
Star-Bulletin's webpage day by day does not carry stories that the
Star-Bulletin paper edition does carry on its front page? Or that
while the
Star-Bullletin's webpage every day does carry the stories that the paper
edition's front page does, that it is the physical layout and
presentation -
not the stories - that is important...and "very different"?
Granted you are not an Advertiser subscriber, are you saying that you
didn't
know that the Advertiser has a web prescence just as the Star-Bulletin
does?
Well, if you didn't know before...you now know! And in answer to your
comment "...and I don't take the Advertiser. So how would I know?" -
please
allow me the observation that while neither Advertiser nor Star-Bulletin
subscriber am I, I obviously am aware of the web presence of both.
That is
to say, the one logically does not necessarily and sufficiently follow
from
the other...as in my case.
By the way...I note that you are still using that "it's" construct for
the
possessive "its". Are you still carrying on that "usage determines
meaning"
campaign of two or so years ago? You do have a persistent pattern
over time
of trying through usage to get "it's" to mean "its" - this go, twice
in the
same sentence! And I will note that it is tough to declaim this usage
as a
typo when it appears here two distinct times in the one short twelve
word
sentence.
