Hawaiian "pig latin"

My wife sometimes talks to me in a strange pig latin (when she doesn't
want the kids to know). she learned this "pidgin" while growing up in
Hawaii and I believe it is native to Hawaii. It is not the pig latin
spoken in the mainland. Here is a sample, and need to know does
anyone else know it? Is it indigenous to Hawaii? She is of Puerto
Rican descent, so maybe it was brought over from Puerto Rico? Just
curious.
English: "Hi, how are you today?"
Hawaiian pig latin: "Hagai, hagow agar yougu togudagay."

Really? A different pig latin in Hawaii? We learned the "regular kind"
growing up in Hawaii which would translate your sentence above to:
"I-hay, owhay arhay ouyay odaytay?"

Ae, some long time I nevah hear dat kine talk.
My aunties and uncles used to talk like that all the time around us.
We learned it eventually...
I may be mistaken but I think it might be called "double dutch"???
Also remember some celebrity on a late night talk show or
something....talking like that.....kinda freaked me out.
Hope somebody here knows the origins and how it got here...

We used to talk something very similar when I was a kid in Newcastle-on-Tyne,
England, when we didn't want our parents to know what we were talking about.
We called it 'back slang' and the favourite theory then was that it
originated in Liverpool, but frankly we didn't have a clue...

I remember hearing both as a kid in Honolulu (probably in Kalihi and
it was probably my older cousins). They spoke both "dialects" -- pig
latin and then the "Pig dutch" for want of a better description.
Now Mike says it's Liverpudlian -- sheesh!

I cracked up...side pain, even...people were looking at me funny. I
hadn't heard da kine since I was a kid...quite AWHILE ago...in Puna, Big
Island). For those who may be curious, here's a pidgin translation of
my reply:
"Hehehe. I raising my han'. Howzit, K? Wow! You sum multilingual:
Pidgin, English, Hawaiian an' this pig Latin, too. Cheez! Uncle hate
w'en I talk li' dis. He say dat his ee-yahs get sowah. Aw, poor t'ing."
For those who still don't get it, here's the English translation of the
above pidgin:
"Hehehe. I'm raising my hand. How are you, K? Wow! You are certainly
multilingual: pidgin, English, Hawaiian and this pig Latin, too.
Cheez. Uncle hates it when I speak like this. He says his ears hurt.
Aw, poor thing."
