Hawaii losses Japanese Golden Week tourists.

The only consolation is that Hawaii is suffering the least. Too bad
Hawaii is not a short haul destination. There have been a couple
letters in the papers complaining from mainland tourists that we have
lost the aloha spirit here-- but that's par, I guess. Nevertheless,
was wondering about the Watanabe murder on the North Shore, which has
been in the papers lately for the last year or so, as to whether that
has affected Japanese attitudes about Hawaii.

"In fact, of all the long-haul destinations served by JAL, Hawaii has
experienced the fewest Golden week losses for the year, Kimura said.

"Short-haul destinations like Guam, South Korea and Taiwan are the
only JAL visitor markets that are posting flight gains, Kimura said."
