Read the posting earlier about the passing of Freddie Morris. I read the
article in Tuesdays online edition of the Starbulletin
(http://www.starbulletin.com) and wanted to express my sympathy. There have
been mentions of the Checkers & Pogo show here lately and that is, primarily,
my memories of him and Moku Kahana. Being an outer island kid, we didnt have
many chances to see him live. He was very funny and was always a high point of
the show. I think this is the best legacy for a comedian: We still smile when
we think of him. Rest In Peace Braddah Freddie.

Wow what a shocker, Bruddah Freddie passing away... Way too young, how
sad. He was a fellow Kailua High School Grad. He was briefly married
to local entertainer Lauren Nakano. They had a daughter together,
Jennifer, now 14 and a classmate of my son's at Kekaulike High School
here in Upcountry Maui. I was surprised the article did not mention he
had a daughter. So sad for Jenny too. Yes, Bruddah Freddie, rest in
peace, and thank you for making so many of us smile. We will miss you.

Wow I never knew this, cause I only get the Sunday paper.
But I did a couple of gigs with Freddie, and let me tell you just like Iz
this man had a big heart. And he was just as funny off stage as he was on.
I remember him telling me that he had to watch sometimes when he tease local
guys with Moku, cause sometimes they get huhu with him.

Aloha Freddie, I going miss you
