This is sort of a message in a bottle to anybody on the internet who is
a fan of celtic music, and drinking songs.
I play in a Canadian band based in Vancouver BC called "The Town Pants"
and we're embarking on a European tour starting this week in September
and going through November 24th, mainly through Scandanavia, but also
through Germany and Switzerland. Best described, our influences are the
Dubliners, The Pogues, and those sorts of groups within that genre of
music. Its basically manic irish music. Songs about lust, death, bad
days, sea disasters, and jack the ripper played without ruth, reck, or
relent and complete disregard for public safety. The band has a CD out
called, "Liverdance!" which was recorded independently.
We'll be playing through Copenhagen, Gothenborg, Stockholm, Uppsala,
Oslo, Helsinki, and more. If you live in any of these cities, please
come on out to a show, and give a listen to a song or two. Please come
up and introduce yourself, as we're always into meeting new folks and
talking about music and arguing over soccer or hockey--well, at least I
am.
You can check out the band's website for more details about the group,
with a complete listing of the tour dates in September, and October with
more to follow in November.
