Sa isang salu-salo kamakailan ng mga FLIP (Filipinos Lost
In Pittsburgh), napunta and aming usapan sa mga pamilipit-dila
tulad ng mga sumusunod:

1. Minikaniko ni Monico ang makina ng Minica ni Monica.
(sabihin ng mabilis)

Translation: "Monico worked on the engine of Monica's car (Minica)."

2. pasko-paksiw-pasko-paksiw-pasko-paksiw
(ulit-ulitin ng mabilis ng ilang beses)

Translation: pasko -- Christmas
paksiw -- some Filipino dish with vinegar, soy sauce,
sugar (ano pa ba?)

3. botika-bituka-botika-bituka-botika-bituka
(sabihin ng mabilis ng ilang ulit)

Translation: botika -- drug store
bituka -- intestines (?)

Meron pa ba kayong alam na iba?

What about rhymes? Here's a few that I know.

1.
Mind your own business
Scratch your own galis

2.
Sabihin mo sa lola mo
Break na kami
Nakita ko ang panti niya
Kay laki-laki

Really. The things I picked up growing up. :-) and :-( at the same time.

This reminds me of another rhyme from elementary school:

Tawa ng tawa, gustong mag-asawa
Iyak ng iyak, gustong manganak

My eyes are fooling me. The first time I read the above, I mis-read it by
flip-flopping the two letters. (no pun intended on the word "flip").

Here's a conversation you can have using only one sound...

[THE SCENE: An elevator, on its way down, stops at a floor. One of the
elevator's passengers is Filipino, as is the person waiting to get on.]

Filipino outside elevator: Ba baba ba?

Filipino inside elevator: Ba baba.

this thread sorta reminded me of it...

How about something in Visayan?

"Ang balay ni Belay libat."

Translation: The house of crossed-eyed Belay.

The Catch: "Libat" eventually changes to "belat," which in Visayan means
"kiki."
