Salamat po.
I don't remember a couple of lines of the song, but I do remember most of
it. Sorry if some of this might be wrong... I learned it in Grade Five
and I never really had to sing it after that one time. I did memorize
it, but it's been 10 years, so pasensiya na po kayo. I'd appreciate some
help with the part I forgot.
BTW, does anyone know the Spanish version of the Bayang Magiliw? If you
do, please post it here at SCF or e-mail me.
Anyway, here's most of the English lyrics ...
Land of the morning
Child of the sun returning
With fervor burning
Thee do our souls adore.
Land dear and holy
Cradle of noble heroes
Ne'er shall invaders
Trample thy sacred shore.
O'er within thy skies and through thy clouds
and o'er thy hills and seas
Do we behold the radiance,
feel the throb of glorious liberty.
Thy banner dear to all our hearts
thy sun and stars alight
And never shall its shining rays
be dimmed by tyrant's might.
O beautiful land of love,
O land of life, in thine....
<I can't remember the rest of this paragraph>
But it is glory ever
when thou art wronged
for us, thy sons,
to suffer and die.

If you are referring to the Philippine National Anthem, the title
is Lupang Hinirang - NOT Bayang Magiliw.
Shouldn't this be in the FAQ ? So many pinoys mistakenly believe it's
Bayang Magiliw. ** no flame, just a correction **
You mean...Philippine National Anthem or "Lupang Hinirang"?
: I don't remember a couple of lines of the song, but I do remember most of
: it. Sorry if some of this might be wrong... I learned it in Grade Five
: and I never really had to sing it after that one time. I did memorize
: it, but it's been 10 years, so pasensiya na po kayo. I'd appreciate some
: help with the part I forgot.
You sure have a good memory, and I have inserted those missing lines...
: Land of the morning
: Child of the sun returning
: With fervor burning
: Thee do our souls adore.
: Land dear and holy
: Cradle of noble heroes
: Ne'er shall invaders
: Trample thy sacred shore.
: O'er within thy skies and through thy clouds
: and o'er thy hills and seas
: Do we behold the radiance,
: feel the throb of glorious liberty.
: Thy banner dear to all our hearts
: thy sun and stars alight
: And never shall its shining rays
: be dimmed by tyrants' might.
: O beautiful land of love,
: O land of life,
in thine embrace
'tis rapture to lie ...lie --> means to rest or lie down as in lay
: But it is glory ever
: when thou art wronged
: for us, thy sons,
: to suffer and die.
The last two stanzas in Spanish:
Tierra de dichas,
sol de amores,
No te regazo,
dulce es vivir
Es una gloria,
para tus hijos,
Cuando ti offenden,
por ti morir.
I only know the last two stanzas very well,
but if i can remember it WRONGLY, here's how
the first part goes... My spelling are INCORRECT
and perhaps the LYRICS, I'd appreciate someone who can
correct anything, add anyuthing, whatsoever....
Tierra adorada
perlas del mar de oriente
Su fuego ardiente
en te latiendo esta
Tierra adorada
del heroismo cuna
Los envisores
no te hollaran jamas
En tus azul ciellos en tus aulas
en tus montes y en tu mar
Esplendi lateel de poema
y tu amada libertad
?.......
?.......
?.......
?.......
Tierra de dichas, sol de amores,
No te regazo, dulce es vivir
Es una gloria, para tus hijos,
Cuando ti offenden, por ti morir.
