I came to Thailand thinking the laws never change, well they
did, you can no longer live in Thailand as a tourist, the
maximum is 6 months now. So I want to move to Philippines
as a tourist. I can come for 21 days no problem, but what
happens if for the first time you enter Philippines you have
a 6 or 12 months visa? Does the immigration officer look
funny at you, and then take you to another room to check
every orifice :) then ask why you want to stay so long?
Anyone with experience on this would greatly be appriciated.

Thanks

Well just got back from the Embassy to get my 59 day visa,
but I only have a flight for less than 21 days so they would not
give me a visa, if you go for a visa of more than 21 days make
your flight for more than 21 days. But the guy at the Embassy
said "once you are in the country, and want to stay for more
than your 21 days, go to the office of Immigration [at
Instamuros, Manila, www.immigration.gov.ph ] and they can
give you a 38 day visa [ 21 + 38 = 59 days ] which can be
extended up to a year, then you must leave".
