Mariah Carey goes nasty on Regine V.
MANILA, (ABS-CBN) - Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez recently got a
dose of her own medicine and it sure was a heartbreaker!
In an interview with actress turned MTV Asia VJ Donita Rose,
international pop icon Maria Carey virtually morphed from an angel to a
nasty diva on the subject of her famous Asian counterpart.
The sexy singer initially commended Regine's powerful singing voice but
the next minute she allegedly called the latter a "brown monkey who can
sing".
Mariah's polite demeanor reportedly nose-dived after she was briefed
that the latter, who is a virtual copycat of her singing and fashion
styles, is regarded as the top singer in the whole of Asia.
Regine, the country's singing Cinderella, made no secret of the fact
that Mariah is one of the musical greats who have inspired her
recording career.
Her detractors claim that she has made Mariah her personal icon to the
point that she annoyingly attempts to adopt the style and attitude of
the more famous pop diva.
For one, Regine sports the same butterfly tattoo that Mariah proudly
shows off in her music videos, the latest of which the former got a
kick out of by copying the singer's sexy clothes and donning it in one
of her pictorials.

From the following article it seems that Velasquez is just another
unoriginal, shameless Philippino making a living by aping their American
counterpart.
I have more respect for Elvis impersonators that someone who'd mimic someone
else like that -- at least the Elvis impersonators don't claim to be doing
anything but copying someone else.
