Manila, May 7, 1998 - Annabelle Rama, a.k.a. Ruffa's Mom, says
the future in-laws of singer- actress Donna Cruz are much richer
than the Torres family of Ormoc which Richard Gomez married
into, but they prefer living simply and will not splurge
needlessly for the wedding of Donna and Yong Larrazabal. The
irrepressible Annabelle is from Cebu and knows the Larrazabals,
her provincemates.
Donna marries Yong in simple, elegant and solemn rites at the
historic San Agustin Church in Intramuros on September 19.
Before that date at the altar, Donna has a few commitments: a
movie project for Viva Films and a series of concerts in the
United States in June. Viva's contract with Donna lasts into the
year 2000.
"I'll be gone for six weeks and will be busy for the wedding
preparations when I return," the Manila Times quotes Donna.
Donna's manager Shirley Kuan is sad that her young ward has
decided to pull out of show business completely after the
wedding.
"I have to respect her decision. What I am proud of is that
Donna is the first virgin bride in show business for a long,
long time," Shirley says. "Her virginity is the best gift she
can present to her husband on their wedding night. She's not
getting married because she's already "carrying a package."
