According to my Tagalog-English dictionary (Carl Galvez Rubino), a tagak
is a "cattle egret" or a "seagull."

A seagull is not an egret, there is a variety of
egret, relative to herons in the Philippines that
feeds on the bugs that swarms around the carabao
(water-bufallo), a seagull is an entirely
different animal.

Hmm... Maybe you should let the author know.... His dictionary is one of
the most comprehensive I've encountered.... But I noticed at least one
mistake in it....His web site is: http://vowel.ucsb.edu/~carl/
He's Ilocano and Italian.
That is not the only Tagalog-English dictionary
that I found to have mistakes....even the ones
printed in the Philippines. I don't have one
because I don't need them, since this one have a
URL...I'll see.
what American city is "the land of the crows?"
Sirit? Oakland. get it?...pronounce it phonetically...ha
ha...ah...eh...never mind...
