WHO IS GETACHEW TEDLA, THE VOICE OF GERMANY RADIO AMHARIC PROGRAM REPORTER IN ADDIS ?

Getachew Tedla is one of the Amharic Reporters for Radio Voice of Germany in
Addis Ababa.
A few days ago I heard Getachew Tedla's report about the war on the Tsorona
front. If I did not know Getachew Tedla I would have believed what he said.
But since I know Getachew Tedla personaly I laughed when I listened to his
report.
Getachew Tedla is a French educated Abyssinian. His father, who I believe was
a Dejazmach, was a member of the Shaon nobility that lost political power in
1974.. He used to teach French language at Aliance Francaise in Addis Ababa.
He did also some translation work on the side. He also worked as news reporter
for the French program of Radio Ethiopia International Service [The former
Radio Voice of the Gospel] on a part-time basis. I recall that he was also
mangaing the POST RANDEZ VOUS CAFE near the Main Post Office in down town Addis
Ababa, which was then owned by his brother. He never had a steady job all his
life.
Getachew does not have any kind of formal training in journalism. He is one of
those Abyssinian jounalists whose product was once characterized by Meles
Zenawi himself as 'gutter journalism'.
Don't think Getachew is a young person. He is a person who was sent to Congo
with the Ethiopian contigent in 1962 i.e., 37 years ago to serve as an
interpretor for the army. He is a person in his early 60's.
Getachew is know among his peers as GETACHEW KUCHBELU [meaning Getachew the
LIAR] because he is famous for telling lies. [Bere Wolede Teret Bemawrat
Yetaweke naw]. Moreover, he is an alcholic, who is always seen drunk in broad
day light around Addis Ababa. If you don't believe me go to Aliance Francaise
in Addis Ababa and ask who Getachew Tedal is. Go to the Economic Commission for
Africa and OAU offices in Addis and ask French educated Abyssinians who work
there. They will tell you who he is.
In his report about the battle on the Tsorona front he said some businessmen,
who used to travel to the area in the past to do business and some people in
the French diplomatic community who know the area TOLD HIM that there is no
way that Shabia would kill so many soldiers. He went on to say that these same
people TOLD HIM that since the Bademe battle in which Ethiopian forces
defeated Shabia forces, Ethiopia has the upperhand.
WHY DID GETACHEW KEEP HIS SOURCES ANONYMOUS? THE REASON IS OBVIOUS FOR ME
BECAUSE I KNOW GETACHEW PERSONALLY. GETACHEW DID NOT HEAR WHAT HE REPORTED
FROM ANYONE. HE JUST CONCOCTED THE STORY ON THE BASIS OF THE RUMOR THAT HE
HEARD IN THE ADDIS BARS THAT HE FREQUENTS. GETACHEW IS NOT A PERSON WHO CARES
ABOUT TOMORROW. HE DOES NOT CARE WHETHER WHAT HE WORTE WAS TRUE OR NOT. HE IS
NOT A PERSON OF INTEGRITY. GETACHEW OR ANY ABYSSINIAN REPORTER FOR THAT MATTER
DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ACCURACY IN MEDIA.
Getachew's report which is a story that he concocted on the basis of the rumor
that he heard [ YE MENDER WORE]] was brodcast on Radio Voice of Germany on
Friday March 19, 1999. Two days earlier Voice of Germany reporter in Asmara,
Goitom Behone, who had gone to the front line with other journalists had
reported the human slaughter that he witnessed. Goitom at the time expressed
his profound sadness at what he saw and appealed to the international community
and impotant international personalitie, to intervene and stop this carnage.
What happened at Tsorona was what Goitom saw with his own eyes and reported to
Voice of Germany's Amharic listeners around the world. That was the truth, the
whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Getachew Tedla, the KUTCH BELU [ THE LIAR] cannot change the facts, however
much he tries to do so. His colleague in Asmara, Goitom Behone, has seen the
slaughter with his own eyes along with other intenational journalists.
It is a shame that Radio Voice of Germany has hired such a known liar as a
repoter and broadcast his TELA BET [MESHETA BET] WORE [RUMOR ] to its
Amharic listners.

AbduLOO7!! How low can you get? Based on what you have written I trust the guy
more than I trust you. Do not try to destroy the person, dispute his truth.
When ever you open your mouth what comes out is an amazingly sewer stinch. You

Getachew Tedla is one of the most respected journalists in the world. He has
been called the African E. R. Morrow by many of his colleagues world wide for
his daring assignments, honesty and personal integrity. Deutsche Welle, with
its unlimited resources understood this fact when they decided to hire him
out of thousands of possible qualified candidates. It is undertandable that
those who want to supress the truth find excellent journalists to be their
mortal enemies.

No, it is not "only a report". It was a deliberately intended
misinformation to tell followers of the war "We both report big lies",
hence they lie and we lie.
I am afraid the recent reports from Isayas side hold some water,
but the woyanes have just desperately lost. True, currently a peace
process is on the going hence the so called "Awet Hafash"
report to cool down the angry Eritreans. Even so, nothing
will save the woyanes butt. WoyAnes are on the verge of disappearance
from the face of the earth withen a short period, possibly days
or weeks, but that is ok since the wish of the woyane is.

from a non EPLFite. I also worry, when disciples show more faith
