I used to be interested in Esperanto, but never learned it. Luckily, it is
pretty easily understandable in written form. Even more luckily, Daniel
translated into English. ;)
I agree that the first is "a neglect". Even some of us who are not from the
South catch ourselves saying y'all or you-all from time to time. Although who's to say that it's not a neglect(ful thing) to not make a distinction between
singular, plural (two people), and plural (more than two), as is done in
certain languages (of course i can't remember which), rather than only between
singular and plural (two or more)?
As for the second, can you please explain? What is "-in"? What
type of ending????
Please e-mail or post in English. Thanks.

(Esperanto sekvas.)
Ancient Egyptian was the worst. It has, if I recall, 4 forms of "you":
masculine singular, feminine singular, dual, and plural. Yes, "you" was
a different word depending on gender! Now think how wonderfully easy
English and Esperanto are by comparison.
Also remember that for the plural "you", in Pittsburgh we often say "yinz"!
La antikva egipta estis la plej malbona. La egipta havas, se mi
memoras, 4 formoj da "vi": vira singulara, ina singulara, duala, kaj
plurala. Ja, "vi" estis malsama vorto, laux genro! Nun, pensu kiel la
angla kaj la esperanta kompare estas mirinde facilaj.
Ankaux memoru, ke por la plurala "vi", en Pittsburgh oni ofte diras "yinz"!

Cxu Pittsburghanoj estas stultaj? Ne, nur strangaj. :-)
