Perhaps it's intersting to add that there are two words for wolf (I use
the new spelling in Common Cornish/Kernewek Kemmyn):
bleydh - wolf
bleydhes - she-wolf
pronounciation:
b - as b in English bit, tuba, cube
l - a clear l, as l in English late
ey - similar to ei in English veil, but with a closer first element
dh - as th in English thither, breathe
e - as e in English bet
s - half-voiced to sound half-way between s as in sat and z
From: Gerliver Kernewek Kemmyn/An Gerlyver Meur, by Dr Ken George,
published by The Cornish Language Board, 1993.
BTW, when I was Cornwall, I heard that Captain Bligh of (the Mutiny of)
the Bounty was born in Devon but had Cornish parents and that his name
is derived from the Cornish "bleydh" - "wolf".

According to my dictionary the cornish word for wolf is "blyth", but I
wouldn't know how to pronounce it.
