China’s Olympic Games is increasingly in the spotlight of the
international attention. China’s authoritarian praxis has begun to
throw a dark shadow over the Olympic events. As the Economist has
commented, “Whatever hopes there were that this August Beijing
Olympics would be a festival of fun and friendship … are fading fast.”
The protests against the Olympic torch have triggered a worldwide
debate about the China’s dictatorship, Tibet and human rights. Also
China’s politics in Sudan, Burma, Zimbabwe and Tibet has come under
increased international scrutiny. It has all brought the question
about politics, business and moral values into the center of global
