Tibetan exiles...misled people...what will become of them !

130,000 exiles in Dharamsala, India, India. I asked him, ...what will
become of them, the Tibetan exiles.
His fervent hope was for an independent Tibet...his people could
return in triumph to their native Tibet...the homeland he left as a 8
year old kid. I asked him...if this was possible ?
He was a realist and he knows that unless China disintegrate like the
Soviet Union.... there is little hope for an independent Tibet.
I asked about the possibility of returning to Tibet, as Chinese
nationals...under Chinese rule with limited autonomy.
As a businessman, and having travelled to many countries and ...seen
people living in hardship around the world, ....his rational mind told
him that it was the right thing for his fellow men to do.... but
personally, he would rather remain in Malaysia.
His brothers and relatives who live in exile in Dharamsala,
India...led very tough life...far worse than his other relatives who
stayed behind in Tibet. (he had secretly returned to Lhasa as a
Malaysian Chinese and had seen with his own eyes...it is not better to
live in exile in India, a democracy)
I asked him ...about waging a war with China, for an independent
Tibet....from India.
He was honest ...to say that it would be futile...Apart from the lack
of resources and the means to do so, he doubt that India would permit
the exiles to launch a war against China... from Indian soil.
He realised that his fellow men ...live as guests at the courtesy of
India...without a country ...without a future for their
children....and without hope.
In the end, they would have to take up citizenship in India...and
become Indians...(provided India allow this to happen).
However, he hope that the USA will continue to support the DL ...and
the younger Tibetans (those born in India) in their fights for an
independent Tibet. It does not look good...as the US is having serious
economic problems and need China's help to fight the depression.

them to gate of heaven for their after life, in this way they can
slave ordinary tibetian for their luxury praying life.
It is the same as in ancient Europe when the Priests were living in
luxury life on the offering from the followers. They used the same
trick as Lama by telling people that only believe in them then it is
possible to get to the gate of heaven in their after life.
How can a Lama claims that they hold the key and secret to the gate of

The Indians are stupid to be even harboring them. india is going to
have a long time of tense relationship with China due to these
Tibetans (who actually are quite difficult to get along with from what
I've heard).
If India has to be in difficluties with anyone, then it should be for
Indians and not some, arrogant, aloof Tibetans.
The entire Indian leadership has been pressured by Westerners to act
for Tibet. These same Westerners who would offer no help in times of
trouble.

I think the Tibetan issue can be compared to that of Taiwan, in that
there is no easy solution. Unfortunately, anti China factions will
always encourage what they call "independence" to Tibetans and
Taiwanese from the Central Chinese government, for lack of better
things to do, or to throw attention away from their own domestic
problems. Tibet is a part of China, and Tibetans can either accept it
and live as part of China, or deny it, and live forever as "exiles"
outside China. Whatever one may think of the Dalai Lama, he is not a
moron, and he himself cannot foresee a solution to this in his
lifetime; he is also aware of the fact that his followers are not
highly educated people, and that they have been brainwashed to be anti
China; that is why he predicted his successor as not being Tibetan,
but of Indian origin, in the hope that the Indian government would
give shelter for his followers and allow them to assimilate with the
Indian culture and society.

Tibetans accept the fact that Tibet is part of China.
However, those in exiles were misled when they left

It was not easy...to leave their homeland to
come to India in the 50s...it is more than mountains
to climb...to go back now.

equally interesting followups on the Tibet problem, especially the
choices the Tibetan exiles now face.
As I have pointed out before (as many have already recognized), Tibet
Independence is a goal which cannot be achieved at this time, mainly
because of the destabilization effect it would have on China's peace
and security in light of the raw hegemonic acitivites the policymakers
of the US of America have displayed in the past decade. (The same can
be said of Taiwan independence. It's an idea to be brought to reality
at a wrong time.)
But as what I said above has implied, the idea of independence may not
be bad when brought to reality at the right time, provided that the
Tibetan people have the patience of hundreds of years, like the Jewish
people in the diaspora.
We should note in particular the parallel between the Jewish people
who began to leave Judea more than two thousand years ago and the
Tibetan people in exile today. The latter are just as backward
compared with the other contemporary cultures as the Jews were then,
against the Egyptians, the Greeks, and the Romans.
But the Jewish culture has always emphasized education, if only for
encouraging its people to learn to read so that they can read the
Scripture of Judaism (in Hebrew) and follow Moses' Commandments and
other things like prophesies and words of advice.
So, if, say, typically 10% of any people are smart people, then nearly
all of that 10% of the entire population would have the potential to
achieve their full potential when education is emphasized. That's why
once the great body of scientific and technological knowledge became
available in the past several hundred years in Europe where the Jews
found themselves in, they instantly became some of its most prominent
disseminators and propagators.
This phenomenon has enabled them to become the influence of the
various wealthy western countries in which they have lived in the
recent past as well as today. This fact, coupled with the Allies'
victory in WWII can be seen as largely responsible for the birth of
Israel, a Jewish state, as we've come to know today.
There is a Chinese saying which underscores the unity of the three
crucial elements necessary for some spectacular event to happen,
namely,
the coincidence of a heavenly timing, the benefit of the land, and
the readiness of the people involved.
Clearly such is more an emperical fact of an astute observer rather
than a mathematical statement. But I believe there is a large grain
of truth in it.
The Jews were not ready two thousand years ago when their culture were
that of herding and trading sheep. But two thousand years later, with
the help of having lived for generations in the knowledge-rich Europe
and with their own readiness, they were ready for their own country
and got it, though peace remains elusive (as they still have to sort
out exactly what and how much they want).
On the other hand, when a culture consists of 99% illiterates, then
statiscally, illiteracy would allow only .01 times 10% of all the
smart people (innately smart) of that culture to achieve their full
potential, assuming education and innate smartness are statiscally
independent.
We have seen from Michael Parenti's article ``Friendly Feudalism - a
Tibet myth'' that before the Dalai Lama led exile in the late 1950s,
Tibetans were mostly illiterate.

Baldeagle's recollection of what the Malaysian Tibetan exile has told
him is telling: The Tibetan independence hopefuls do not have what he
called ``resources'' to achieve independence for Tibet.

The most fundamental resource the Tibetan exiles do not have is
arguably the human resource. And the Tibetan theocracy which exerted
control over the Tibetan locals for centuries is directly responsible.
As one would recall from the Brad Pitt movie called ``Seven Years in
Tibet'', when the tall blonde Austrian athelete caught the adolescent
Dalai Lama's eyes, he wanted him all to himself. He wanted him to
come to his palace to teach or just talk to him everyday, instead of
having him teach a school of ``his people'' who were left to remain
illiterate.
He wanted him to direct the building of a movie house for himself,
using the free labor of ``his people'' who couldn't bear the sight of
seeing that their mothers in the form of the worms in the ground were
being disturbed, dislocated, or destroyed.
They were taught not to understand but to believe the nonsense that
they were poor and miserable because they were cursed into their
current hard lives because of the misdeeds from their former
incarnations.
And so, logically their mothers were all condemned to crawl around as
worms in the cold hard ground of Tibet.
This Dalai Lama was the same Dalai Lama who bumped heads with the
powerful House Speaker of the US, Nancy Pelosi, when he visited
Washington recently and said he would reserve judgment on the Iraq
war.
The readers are encouraged to read Micahel Parenti's article on the
selfishness of the Tibetan theocratic ruling class and its cruel
exploitation of the majority of the Tibetan people, generation after
generation.
However, in my opinion, the Tibetan people can have their independence
if that's their fervent desire. But they must be patient and they
must be wise.
They must be wise to know that education is key to their future, no
matter what they want to do. As they become educated, they will also
want to rid themselves of the theocracy, which is feudalism.
Feudalism has always been bad for the people whether it was practiced
in medieval Europe or in poor China for the last two milennia.
The Tibetan people must be patient because they have to wait out a
period in which some countries believe they can use military means to
dominate others.
I believe and hope that the day will come when there is absolutely no
threat to the Chinese people when there is an independent Tibet in
their southwest border. And when that time comes, then the Chinese
people and the Tibetan people will be brothers and sisters instead of
enemies.

I think the Tibetan issue can be compared to that of Taiwan, in that
there is no easy solution. Unfortunately, anti China factions will
always encourage what they call "independence" to Tibetans and
Taiwanese from the Central Chinese government, for lack of better
things to do, or to throw attention away from their own domestic
problems. Tibet is a part of China, and Tibetans can either accept it
and live as part of China, or deny it, and live forever as "exiles"
outside China. Whatever one may think of the Dalai Lama, he is not a
moron, and he himself cannot foresee a solution to this in his
lifetime; he is also aware of the fact that his followers are not
highly educated people, and that they have been brainwashed to be anti
China; that is why he predicted his successor as not being Tibetan,
but of Indian origin, in the hope that the Indian government would
give shelter for his followers and allow them to assimilate with the
Indian culture and society.
